New Rule Regarding The Forum

Hi All!

This is just a quick note to bring to your attention a new rule that has just been added regarding the forums. The rule is:

No double posting in the forums (posting twice in a row) unless it has been at minimum 24 hours between your posts. If you have something additional to add, please use the edit post feature. The exception to this rule is bumping up a new thread you just created.

This was a rule a few years ago, and due to recent events, I have decided it is best to re-implement it. It will be enforced going forward from this moment.

(This is also an example of the part of the rule that allows you to double post when creating a new forum topic post! It is allowed because brand new forum topic posts do not show up on the Recent Forum Activity at the bottom of every page, so by replying with a -bump- like this, it makes people see your thread sooner.)

What about if an accidental double post ahppens - are we going to get in trouble for that?

Asking because sometimes a forum refresh it seems to randomly report - even if the form submission doesn't pop up.

I think when the counting/word games ones are really active too and people post at the sameish time it would get confusing editing your first post cause it won't be the most recent. That happened to me a couple of times today.

I think she means when it's purposeful, not accidental. It's usually pretty obvious which is which. 🙂

i think we'll be able to tell if it was intentional or not
usually when something is refreshed, it'll just post the same thing twice.

this is more so leaning toward when two completely seperate posts are made within a certain time frame. 

this is an exmaple post of what not to do, since my last post was at 8:14 today and now i posteded something completely different and intentional

I've gotten in trouble for accidents before, so I just want to be sure - otherwise when it is busy and I am posting like mad I will want to confirm there aren't any doubles - particularly in chat forums when it's hard to keep track of who said what last.

I understand why being like bump-bump-bump is annoying, and especially during a contest.  I'm all for not allowing that.

I just don't want to get in trouble - particularly since I play multiple forum games with very different rules.

i think we've all accidentally made a double post! so no worries!
it's just when it's super obvious and it's like flooding the forums, kinda like flooding chat, when it's back-to-back, not giving someone else a chance to reply

i completely understna the forum games, especially the number ones. those can definitely get consfing when more than just two people are posting in there lol

this makes sense!!! i'm glad i read this before finally sitting down and starting to participate for the contest though :P
