My neighbor has a 9-month-old Bloodhound named Waldo. I love animals, guys, honestly. I love all animals even the ones I won't touch [lizards, etc.] but this dog is completely too much to handle. He's ginormous and he shakes his sticky, nasty drool all over everything and everyone. He is the most vile and disgusting animal I have ever encountered in my life.He attacks me. CONSTANTLY. I have a bruise the size of a softball on the back of my leg from that dog jumping on me over a week ago. It's still purple. He was in his kennel, the door was open (usually he just hangs out in there) and his kennel is right by the front door to go outside. I peacefully step over the gate from the living room (they don't let him roam the house because he's so big and gets into everything) and idle past his cage. Just as my hand got to the knob, he FLIPPED OUT.He started barking his monster bark that sounds like a dying cow being attacked by an alligator [the most mortifying "bark" you will ever hear] and he attacked me. He literally had my entire forearm--all the way up to my elbow--in his mouth. He didn't bite me and even though I despise that dog, I just don't have the heart to swat him. I just yanked my arm out and bolted out the door as fast as I could.KEEP IN MIND;; I am a tiny girl!! I'm 5 feet tall and weigh only 90ish pounds. That DANG dog is Satan, I swear to Gandalf. He could kill me with ease.I vote no to the evil breed, but my opinion means nothing lol. I just thought I'd share my horror story to you guys. They aren't very nice animals, just saying. I won't do a single bloodhound graphic, mark my words. No way in ANYWHERE!!!

Not to diminish your trauma or anything, but I think it is extremely unfair to judge/generalize an entire breed by just one animal. Attitudes like that are what result in breed-specific legislation and give breeds like pit bulls such a terrible reputation. As for this dog in particular, it might just be his personality, or the way he was (or was not) trained.. Dogs are individuals. Of course genetics play a role, but the way they are raised/handled/disciplined has a huge impact on them as well. I don't particularly like or dislike bloodhounds, but they are generally known as being a really loving and gentle breed and great family dogs..

Delphic, this is a game with fictional dogs. If we add bloodhounds to HP they aren't going to be running rampant around the game attacking people at random.I think your comment is extremely unfair, more than a little rude, and out of place. If you don't like a breed, fine. But don't go to the thread of a person trying to add them and tell everyone that they're "evil". It not only has nothing to do with the thread itself, it also was very rude to the person who started this thread.I'm sorry you've had a bad experience with one dog, but it's not the entire breed's fault. As Misa said, this is how BSL stuff starts and causes plenty on nice, loving dogs to be put down every year just because of their breed. But regardless of how you feel about breed-restrictive-legislation your comment had no place on a thread like this.

Oh, and for whatever it's worth, this isn't a voting process. You can't vote "no" to a breed.

Your personal experience with one dog has nothing to do with adding a breed to HP and also nothing to do with the breed as a whole... The dog probably acts this way because it's owners don't pay any attention to it and don't let it inside with the family. And I'm sure it's received no training of any sort... Maybe instead of blaming the dog (and the breed), you should just avoid the dog so you don't put yourself at any more risk of injury.Pretty much every breed of dog ever has had at least one case of attacking someone or something at some point... And I don't think we're going to go around and delete all the dogs off of HP because of it..Back on topic, I personally think bloodhounds are lovely :P If I had time for more breeds, I would consider them, however I'm too busy as it is xDGood luck getting them added back! :)

I agree with everyone else...that's completely irrelevant. I've known particularly nasty dogs in many breeds...even a soft coated wheaten terrier (a breed that is known for it's kind temperament) but that doesn't impact having them on here or even owning one myself. One dog doesn't define any breed. Besides as Sam said, you can't vote no on a new breed. If you don't want to do it don't give it your support/don't breed them, but there's no reason to say no to them, as it has no impact what so ever.

Mean? Bloodhound? It sounds like he may be a little undisciplined and in need of some training... mean? no. Besides, if we went with that logic we'd loose Pit Bulls, Dobermans, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Chows and lots of other breeds. Oh... yeah, lets not forget those pesky little Chihuahuas. xD Either way, I totally SUPPORT this, cause I had a Bloodhound growing up named Big Mac. No, he wasn't named after a McDonalds burger, but after an 18wheeler. lol. He was my big, lovable baby.

Eeek, I am sorry you had that experience Delphic. However, Bloodhounds are not normally like that. Please try to keep in mind that it is not the dog, most generally, it's the owner. I have known plenty of "bad" dogs in my life. Including a German Shepherd, Lab, and Dachshund. Despite all of this, I would still love to get the bloodhound back onto HP, and it seems all we need is one more person who would be interested in breeding them.

This is just like my lab yesterday attacking a pitbull that was walking by! o.O Just cause one dog acts out of the stereotype doesn't say anything about the breed.

Agreed. I one had an incredibly aggressive Dachshund who was Ironically named Snuggles. She was a mean little thing, and would attack the back of your legs when you tried to leave the house. She also was not kind to children. However, I do not judge the entire breed just because I had a mean one.

Exactly ^.^ I got some seriously mean looks from the lady with the pit while i was wrestling my dog to the ground. And not the mention the pit did NOT try to attack her back.

I know right! I fostered a pit once named Baby. She was exactly that. My Pyr bit and barked at her once, made no connection with her, just threatened, and she ran away crying lol.

Every American Pit Bull Terrier I have ever met has been the biggest baby ever, my sister currently has two that are perfect with my niece (9 years old) and nephews (8 and 5 years old). XD My mentioning them was because approx. 1 out of 8 people hates them just for their breed. It's sad really. I've been bit plenty of times while volunteering for our local high-kill animal shelter... and it has never been by a breed listed on the BSL list. Chihuahuas, Dachshunds, Pomeranians, Maltese (I've been bit by all four of those lol) and other small breeds have the biggest 'fight or flight' instincts and they aren't afraid to fight. XD

lol. One of the most protective doggie breeds I have ever seen (which has bit my, but at my aunts house) is those odd looking schnauzer thingies... My aunts attacked me when I hugged her last time I was there. xD I ended up on the kitchen table. It was going in for the kill.
