I understand why we have limited edition breeds separated with an additional cost, but I do wish that non-holiday or non-mythical animal breeds were not included in this list. For example with wild breeds, there are plenty of wild breeds that are included in the base animals. It's a bit frustrating that these are grandfathered in and no future wild breeds will ever be added to the base list. This has been especially rough given the fact that wild breeds have been banned from being introduced further for a couple years now. Trust me, I'm very thankful that when Fennec Foxes were introduced they were allowed to be added at all, but after breeding them for years I'm starting to see how detrimental it is to have a limited edition breed and it's been pushing me towards a non-limited breed despite how much I love my Fennecs. It just doesn't feel very smart to have one as your main breed at the very least.

#1 - It negatively effects my ability to build up a massive amount of animals for training due to the involved cost. I've tried a few times to expand my pack, but I always end up scaling back again after seeing just how much money it takes to do so. 1.5mil compared to 3,750 is a HUGE difference and it adds up astoundingly fast. 75k vs 30mil just to buy 20 animals is just too much. For the custom HP breeds and perhaps the mythical breeds, I could understand this cost. However, there are a couple breeds (wild and non-wild but still non-mythical) where this huge cost makes far less sense. The holiday breeds even get exclusive times of the year where you can buy them from the base shop which is great. As a breeder of Fennec Foxes, I never even get this oppourtunity even briefly.

#2 - I feel like it genuinely deters people from starting these breeds. When I've tried to drum up interest for Fennec Foxes in the past, I feel obligated to provide starting pairs for people who are interested in hopes that having the initial cost covered will encourage them to continue for future generations. However, they always seem to lose interest aside from the few super dedicated people who have kept them going for awhile now though admittedly in very small sets of pairs. I understand getting people interested in starting and/or continuing a new breed is a complex ordeal with no guarantees regardless of being limited edition or not, but I can't help but imagine that the cost is a very negative factor for them as well.

As much as I want to request and would be thrilled for certain breeds to be removed from the limited edition list and integrated into the base animal lists, I don't expect this will happen. So, instead, I will ask for more reasonable changes. Can we re-evaluate the cost of limited edition breeds or at least the cost for non-mythical or non-custom-HP breeds? Also, I'd like to raise the idea of having at least one month per year where every limited edition breed has the chance to be added to the base store so everyone has equal opportunity to save some money. This could be a couple per month then they rotate for a new set the next month or a singular month per year where every non-holiday breed is added to the base store. This would at least even the playing field for all limited edition breeds.

P.S. Yes, I know this is my own fault. I decided to take up a limited edition breed and the terms for doing so were made clear from the start. However, like many of you, it's taken me YEARS to finally fall in love with a breed and somehow I've made it to the 15th generation. Go figure that THIS was the one my brain decided was going to stick. Lmao. I figure that there is no harming in asking!

As someone who has more than one limited edition breed, yes please 😍

This is the main reason I've condensed my Zombie paint lines and moved them to an alternate account, despite how much time, effort and love I have put into them. They're just so expensive to maintain, especially with the vast amount I was training. I've moved my vizslas to my main now, as it is so much cheaper to establish my numerous foundation lines now, as well as in the future.

I love love love training. I love having a tonne of horses or dogs that I have trained myself. It's a little source of pride for me on HP. And it's far more financially viable to do a standard store breed, than my beloved zombs.

Breeds are under Koni's HP umbrella, and I've already tasked her with looking at what breeds are in the regular shop vs. the cash shop, so I've put this on her radar as well.

Not super involved in this but you made a very valid point that there are some cash shop breeds that have special times of the year where they are available in the regular store. It may be "an easy fix" to have a similar thing happening for the other breeds. Once a year would allow someone to build up lines without breaking the bank.

I thought of another possible idea instead of putting wild breeds on limited edition at all while still requiring an extra cost to be associated with breeding them. Maybe exploring the idea of a special breeding license you have to periodically buy to be allowed to purchase and also breed them? As if you were a rescue or zoo that required certain permissions to own them? Almost how mass feeder works already, but it expires on its own instead of being tied to your upgrade time. This would require additional cost to participate, but wouldnt be based on how many you had. Pricing would have to be reasonable though or this could be worse than the existing situation. Admittedly, this suggestion would clearly be more of a serious addition with a lot more coding involved than may be worth it, but it's definitely a more flavorful and interesting approach.
