Resolution Issues?

I've been trying to produce larger sized manipulations at a higher quality to be used in layouts, however when I finish with an image it just seems pixelated or blurry.... even when uploading.

For example: For my insanity leap (photo currently in sales), my image size is 2000x1500 with a 200ppi.

I have it on preserve details 2.0.

Yet, when I upload it to postimage or imgbb or whatever - it looks of lesser quality and kind of crappy?

How do I fix this issue? What setting do I need to produce a larger/more clear image file?

I also save all my files as .png.

I've been having the same issue!  I do 300ppi for my images.  the smaller ones come out beautifully but my layout images are just not that great in quality.  Maybe it's the websites we are using for upload?  I use imgur  I also do png

I'm afraid I was the one to suggest posting in the forums as I couldn't figure it out myself! I also save in .png and upload to imgbb for large images (imgur is good for 800x600 but I tend to find a subtle quality loss on the layout sized images), and don't have any issues, so sadly have no clue how to help. 😔

I believe it's the site reducing it. The upload site, not HP.

Is it pixelated/blurry even while it's still in Photoshop? Or whatever graphics program you use? If so, that usually means the stock images you're using are a smaller size than your overall canvas size. Example: if you have a canvas 2000px wide by 1600px tall, and you use stock images that are only, say, 800px wide by 600px tall, when you resize them to fit the 2000px canvas size, you distort the stock images, causing the pixelation/blurriness.

DeviantArt/other image hosting sites are unfortunately notorious for ruining an image's quality.

For note, I tend to use 300ppi because it, in my opinion, produces the clearest image.

Thank you, Mako. I will keep an eye on my stock photos and see if that helps with the image being blurry.

I am still waiting for my computer to get repairs - I HATE waiting. lol

I believe the issue is generally seen within the uploading service as others have stated. Sounds like everyone is paying close attention to compression details and such to have the highest quality photos. I have yet to find image uploading sites that truly capture the detail desired unless you are paying for a service (which just seems ridiculous).

making sure the stock you use is high quality is a fantastic point though! An easy one to forget when putting things together.
