Hello! I am a photoshop hobbyist looking to make some HPD by selling premade layouts/images. I need to build up a "portfolio" before I can take orders so I'm thinking starting with premades is the way to go. My questions:

-Do I have to be able to code to sell premade layouts? I've dabbled in the past but have a ways to go on learning that. I see some "premade layouts" for sale in the auctions that look like just an image.

-Is there a standard size for layout images?

-If you have any resources you could point me towards for learning HTML/CSS appliacable to HP layouts please let me know!

Hey, so I'm useless at anything coding related so I'm afraid I can't answer those questions for you, but as for the others:

- Myself and other graphic artists will sell 'layout-sized' images sometimes as well as 'horse/dog sized' images; essentially these are images that are more suitable to be used in a layout (higher detail/include more elements etc) but don't come with coding. These are still sold as a 'graphic' rather than a layout due to the lack of coding. Anything classified as a 'layout' in the auction should include coding, I believe.

- I usually make layout images 1200-1600px wide, depending on the image. Usually I'm trying to retain as much detail as possible so try to keep the image as large as possible, but it differs. Some coders also prefer working with images of a specific size.

I'm game for helping you sell layouts in the auctions. I could use a source of income here as well but my graphics arent nearly as good as uta's. You create the graphic and send it to me. I'll code it into a layout on one of my spares and send you a link when its complete for approval and so you can list it. And split the profits 50/50.

Hah, I still hate drawing hair, Mako and Ephe are my hair heroes on here lmaooo. Mostly I just spend hours and hours screwing it up and trying again until something looks right. ;)

There are tons of tutorials on deviantart, but you're welcome to drop me a line if you ever want to be pointed in the right direction.

Also, solid suggestion from Nad; combining forces can be pretty lucrative.Β

I would say 1200px wide and around 800-1000px tall is a good like... Ratio. For layout images. That's going to be a bit smaller than a standard desktop monitor.

I also agree that coding should be arranged for if selling categorized as a layout. My coding is also open and I sell my coding on a sliding scale.
