So let me start by saying that I have recently become VERY passionate about this breed.....and I am about to most likely put too much info for this type of post, but I want to spread the word!!!! This is sort of a "recognized crossbreed request" as well as a "new breed request". Please bear with me as I try my best to explain in a way that makes sense.

Pictures - first, of course!

The breed: Saint-Pierre Dog
2nd Generation Labernese (Labrador x Bernese Mountain Dog).

LAB x BMD = Labernese
Labernese x Labernese = Saint-Pierre Dog

In RL......

- These dogs were devloped in Canada by The Mira Foundation [link]. - The Mira foundation specializes in breeding & training dogs for the benefit of individuals living with a physical or visual disability or autism.
- One of my favorite youtubers Molly Burke [youtube link] is a wonderful, loving recipient of (multiple!) Mira Saint-Pierre Dogs. Her relationship she has with her guide dogs is so beautiful, and it is amazing to see how much freedom her guide dogs bring her.
- I want to do everything I can (in ways that make sense to me) to bring awareness to the world about this wonderful foundation, their amazing breeding program, and their unbeatable training program.

So on HP.....

- This would be a recognized crossbreed request - "Labrador Retriever" x "Bernese Mountain Dog" = "Labernese".
- This would be another new crossbreed request - "Labernese" x "Labernese" = "Saint-Pierre Dog".

My HP goals if added:

- Become an established breeder (I already have 4 pairs of each foundation breed started).
- Only breed 100% lined Saint-Pierre Dogs to help boost their value, bring more awareness, and better represent their amazing uniqueness and their impeccable linage in real life.
- Become a breed ambassador & offer highly sought after dogs so that other breeders do not have to go through the process of training the Labradors, Bernese Mountain Dogs, and 1st generation Labernese in order to get a pointed, 4th generation authentic Saint-Pierre Dog.

Generation 1
LAB (g1) = Store x Store
BMD (g1) = Store x Store

Generation 2
LAB (g2) = LAB (g1) x LAB (g1)
BMD (g2) = BMD (g1) x BMD (g1)

Generation 3
Labernese (g3) = LAB (g2) x BMD (g2)
Labernese (g3) = LAB (g2) x BMD (g2)

Generation 4
Saint-Pierre Dog (g4)** = Labernese (g3) x Labernese (g3)
** These would be the dogs that I not only train/breed myself, but I would also sell/raffle/give them away as part of the Embassy.

Please comment below if you'd be willing to breed these beautiful dogs!

Edit: TLDR - Requesting 2 new crossbreeds be recognized to have "Labernese" & "Saint Pierre Dogs" added to HP.

I will totally message you shortly about pictures, then, if you don't mind! :D

I would say the only "down side" of breeding early is just that satisfaction of knowing you're making each generation as best as they can be, and then trying to better each gen. But you'd be starting with more points than a store, and as long as you still fully train the parents, the lines will look fine. So I'd go for it. I was considering the same, tbh. ;)

Woo, I was actually planning on doing the same thing, and start breeding every two weeks after everybody hits 725k points. At 725k points for both parents, the pup is guaranteed to be born with at least 50k points, which is - for me - an acceptable amount for a lined pup to be born with. It comes with an award and everything lol. 50k points is also the only award most 2nd gen pups will receive anyways, since both parents would need at least 1.5mil for a 100k baby ^^

So - if you plan on having multiple pups per gen, I would recommend starting at 725k points for both parents. There's no other downside other than that you'd most likely hit or even surpass the HP culture's acceptable max baby limit of 3 or 4 per pair ahah. (Which, in cases like this where we need a massive foundation - or in color genetics, which is where I did all this research and math for - seems like a good deal anyways).

Mango - I love the way you think. < 3 I need it all written down and worked out (or typed out). I'm a very visual person! I like the idea of 725k and then every few weeks breeding them again.

My only concern with multiple breedings (which I am leaning towards as well!) is actually keeping them all straight. We are going to have so many different dogs from the same foundations. I'm trying to think of a way to sort them out to avoid inbreeding. I know I can avoid immediate inbreeding as far back as great grandparents, but once we get to the Saint-Pierre it'll be interesting to see the easiest way to actually track them to ensure no inbreeding at all.....

If anyone comes up with a fancy spreadsheet or something to track all this....I might pay LOL

I... am a complete and utter slave to spreadsheets and I adore making them like an absolute NERD, so I wholeheartedly volunteer to make a Saint-Pierre Registry spreadsheet! xD

*pretend this is mango's main*

I am highly considering breeding this current lot REALLY early so that we can get this party started......and then breeding them again once they have more points. I want a Saint Pierre for the mascot contest and the only way to do that is breed early.

I guess it is to the drawing board for me!!

mango - yesssssssss, please!!

I'm game to do a saint Pierre in the no tix/shows category (I'm full other than that). I have labs and bmd on spare upgrades that I'm currently borrowing if anyone wants to use any for breeding. Just shoot me a message.
