Whatchoo learning?

I jump between French, Spanish, Japanese, Norwegian (Bokmal) and Haitian Creole. I mostly do French, Norwegian and Haitian Creole.

I was working on Spanish but life got in the way and I always forget to start it up again! I'll randomly think about it in the middle of the night when I'm falling asleep. xD

How much does this cost? I have a neighbor who only speaks spanish and she's the best neighbor I have and we've always had each others backs. I'd love to be able to communicate with her more efficiently.

You can do it for free but they do have some paid features on the app!

A thing with the site, though, is you're not taught the alphabet, numbers, etc. More phrases.

Something I thought was good about the old Duolingo was how you used to be able to repeat words and phrases you heard, but that seems to be gone now, unless it's been made a Premium perk.

An odd phrase I got in French:

mine asks me still to "speak" but i just turn it off XD

I have been trying to learn German. ♥

I tried doing it with Korean, but they don't do a fantastic job of teaching fluency with contextual languages. Instead of teaching you how the language works, they just teach you phrases like Kuw said. Which is nice in a crunch or when you're prepping for a vacay, but when you're trying to learn to be fluent, is not helpful at all. I need to understand tenses and conjugations and honorific conjugations in order to be able to speak on my own in a contextual language, rather than regurgitate learned phrases, if that makes sense? xD

I ended up finding a different website that is actually devoted to teaching Korean from the ground up like we learned English in school ^^

I only use the app and don't have premium as its is expensive for my wallet; don't mind the ads so much as long as their is a mute button; Right now, I'm into: Dutch, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Portuguese, Greek, and German and I've oscillated/dabbled in Ukrainian, Danish, Navajo, Turkish, Polish, Czech, and Yiddish; I'll probably go back to some of those later on, but wanted to wait until I advanced more in what I have now. I'm dropping Haitian Creole (Kreyol) as it got complicated. It was throwing big sentences at me that I couldn't remember when it came to me writing what the voice said, or translating it to English.

My main focus is on French, and I dip into Norwegian and the others occasionally. Mostly I go on to keep my streak going (I restarted on the 1st of last month) and to earn Lingots.
