My boy is gone.

I know it was the best decision to have made for him, but it was so fucking hard. 

He was only 9 years old. 

So unfair.

My buddy (the real Murdock) and I had to let him go. There was nothing anyone could have done for him. 

We had paid to have him individually cremated and returned in a simple cardboard box with a bluebell-carpeted woodland scene all over it, but when we were supposed to get him back, Rob was informed that the box we'd chosen was out of stock, so we had to wait another week. But he's home now, and his box is beside Rob's turnatable in his living room. I chose that spot because I have a photo of him sitting atop the turntable's lid.
We're going to be getting a little wooden box from a local store that sells books and art supplies (The Works, for those in the UK). It'll be cheaper than the boxes the crematorium were selling, and I'm going to paint it myself. It will probably be set in his corner of the kitchen where he used to eat his meals.

It's so heart breaking when this happens and he was so young. X striking beautiful eyes.

I'm glad you have him back as it's a small comfort.
