CF Stables (my herd!)

I've had horses my entire life but in the past year I have kinda split off from my parent's farm since they really aren't doing the horse thing anymore and have my own little establishment for my lessons and training and here is my herd! Tuffy's Awesome Stuff "Tuff" Tuff is a late 20s (gotta check his papers) AQHA that we've had for 17 years. He was my moms trail horse and then I rode him for a few years after retiring my horse. This hunk is an awful horse but I love him anyway. Like he has zero redeeming qualities but that makes him lovable. Loading? Not a chance. Want to tie him to something? Watch him turn into a mule and pull it across the yard. Want to ride him? 50/50 chance he will only walk backward. He is pretty much retired now and is just living his life up in the pasture getting fat and happy. Delilah and Buttercup Not too sure the age on these crazies but we've had them both 10+ years. Delilah is the donkey and Buttercup is the mule. They really don't like people unless there is food involved but they keep predators out of the pasture! Tymeless VF "Timmy" This handsome hunk is my 19-year-old Arab. I leased him for several months and he made me fall in love with Arabs and I'm pretty sure he is smarter than me. He did western pleasure in Scottsdale for most of his life before retiring and finding me. He literally does it all. I do open shows on him, can ride English or Western, I've run barrels and poles, endurance, and even can teach lessons on him. He is a true all-around horse and I love him dearly. Cinnamon Cinnamon picked me and decided that I was her owner and I didn't have a choice. If you ever met her, this is basically on par for her attitude. She is vet aged around 13 and I'm guessing is an Arab cross. A farm where I was teaching lessons bought her at an auction because no one wanted to bid on her and she was basically feral despite being sold as green. I worked on building trust with her for a few months and finally got her some ground manners and then she stepped on a nail somewhere in the pasture. When she was hurt she refused to let anyone but me near her and I was the only person able to do her post-care and I just knew that she had to be mine. She is an accident-prone little cuss and has been prone to abscesses and kicking through fences. Training has gone slow with her but we've recently started doing +R training and she has progressed MILES. She tests me more than any horse I've ever worked with and it makes me love her more. Granted I do call her glue stick 90% of the time but at least she is pretty! Apache Rain Song "Apache" This hunk just turned 2 in May and technically belongs to my niece. He is stabled with my horses and I'm training him so I count him in my herd. My niece just turned 9 and typically I would not recommend a young horse for a kid but these two have the best bond and this is the laziest two-year-old in the world. He is grade but I would bet there is some warmblood in the woodwork. He is the sweetest and laziest gentle giant ever and we can't wait to see what his future will hold! Sassy Sassy is the reason I am not allowed to go to auctions unsupervised. In my defense, I went to bid on some tack that morning but I saw her in the stalls and we clicked. This 28-inch mini just stole my heart and I sat for 10 hours so that I could bid on her. She lives a very charmed life in the paddock that backs up to my house and can literally knock on my back door when she wants attention (which is always). We take her to shows to be "emotional support" for the show horses and she loves to travel. She makes me smile every time I see her and I am so glad I got her! She is also mildly tiktok famous! CF Ruby Red Slippers "Red" Sweet red girl is our newest addition. I tend to collect non-ridable horses but this girl has a bright bright future. She is an AQHA yearling that is heavily Kid Clu bred and is such a sweetheart. Her AQHA name is pending currently but I'm slightly obsessed with it. She is actually for my husband. He was helping me with her "horsey kindergarten" training and the two clicked. When she came up for sale we had to grab her up. I'm not sure what direction we will go with her yet but she has very natural movement and a great mind so the sky is probably the limit with her. |

I love them all and the little descriptions of them. How do the Donkey and the Mule, Delilah and Buttercup, vary in personality? |

"Sassy is the reason I am not allowed to go to auctions unsupervised." Girl, I feel you. I was nearly kicked out of home for bringing a mini home from the Adelaide Royal one year :D Such stunners, all of them. I adore Apache! And lol @ Tuff :D |

Thanks for all the love! Buttercup and Delilah are both pretty similar but buttercup is a bit more friendly and outgoing and Delilah is more protective of the pasture. If you have a bag of marshmallows near them all bets are off though! My husband won't even let me think about going to an auction without him now but he secretly adores her. Lol at all the Tuff love. He is totally a grumpy old man and everyone needs a Tuff in their herd! |
