......HP Questions......
1. How did you first learn about us?
I'm not 100% sure because it's been a hot minute but I am thinking from the old Horseland Member's Forums! Back in the days when HL was dying.

2. What is your favorite thing about HP?
The community: the diversity, building relationships with new people, getting to know people on more personal levels. It's just a great place to be yourself and I've made a serious best friend along the journey. Also the ability to own horses and dogs I can't afford to actually get in RL lol. Must live vicariously through HP with all the pons and doggos.

3. How long have you been playing for?
13 years

4. How did you come up with your player name?
My original player name was "Arduous" - which followed me from my HL days. I was in chat one day and I was arguing with someone and they said I was a particularly Arduous person (Difficult person). So yep I was a stubborn one back in my youth. And it stuck up until the beginning of this year. My mom passed away January 6th and I felt a heartbreak and great pain of a magnitude I'd never even begin to imagine existed. I think I may have went through some hard reflecting and I just didn't want to go by the name Arduous anymore, it didn't really define me as a person. The next best thing was using the nickname my mom gave me, Ris, short for my real name, Marisa. I still respond to being called Ardy, and heck I was Arduous for over 20 years so there are definitely days I seriously consider going back to using my old name.

5. What is your favorite breed of horse or dog to train?
My Akitas. They hold a special place in my heart from my experiences growing up with the breed. Tons of fond memories of our family's Akitas that just take me back to good times.

6. What caused you to pick the breed(s) you train and breed?
The Straight Spanish Arabians are from my days on HL... I was known as the SSA Queen. It carried into HP. I can't honestly remember the reason I started them back on HL but now I do them because I finally hit generation 11. LOL. Which if anyone knows how indecisive I am with my breeds, they know this is a big deal for me. My Akitas are from my past childhood dogs, the German Shepherds are from owning a German Shepherd now.

7. How do you come up with names for your animals?
My Akitas all have Japanese names, My Spanish Arabians have an old testament/Biblical locations and names theme. The German Shepherds are named after Christian praise/worship type songs from my favorite Spotify playlist.

8. What are your current goals on HP?
To find a breed I am passionate about and stick with it xD

9. Do you have a favorite animal? (It can be your own or another player’s you admire!)
My favorite animal.... probably my Gen. 10 Akita, Namie #144059 (nahmee). She is my highest pointed Akita to date with 4mil points.

10. Who’s your go-to graphic artist or coder?
I mostly just browse the auctions and pray I win it. lol
Are there any services you offer?
On occasion I offer photomanipulations. With my carpal tunnel nerve damage the graphics I do are sort of few and far between.

11. What is your favorite Site-Wide yearly event?
Back when we were doing it, real-life Secret Santa!

12. What other contests or activities do you usually participate in?
Mostly depends on my availability. Certain times of year at work are busier than others.

13. Do you have any training or breeding tips to share?
None in particular, I personally train on Wednesdays for the week because that is one of my days off and I can get it all done in one go.

14. Which seasonal layout art is your favorite?
Spring.

15. If you could change one thing about HP, what would it be and why?
I really wish you could have 2 breed specialties with each upgraded account. One for canines, and one for equines. Oh and a Mass Vet/Farrier Vet/Groomer!

16. What do you spend most of your time on HP doing?
Lurking in chat, browsing auctions, creeping on people's magnificently coded layouts.

17. What is your favorite Club?

.....Real Life & Random Questions......
1. Where are you from?
A small mountain resort town in Southern California.

2. Does your place of residence have any sort of quirky history fact or legend/tradition, and if so, what is it?
Approximately 2500 years ago, this area was populated by a group of Native Americans known as the Serrano Indian tribe. There used to be tons of grizzly bears as well, the Serrano looked at the native grizzly bears as ancestors and did not eat the meat or wear the fur of these massive animals. History records show that in 1860, a bear hunter named William Holcomb discovered gold in the backcountry after tracking a bear's blood trail to a creek he found gleaming with flakes of gold.

3. What do you do for work?
I am a dispatch/rooms controller for the housekeeping department at a worldwide time share resort.

4. Do you own any horses or dogs?
No horses but one doggo.

5. Do you have any other types of pets at home?
3 female cats. My two black shorthaired girls: Katu and Pishi and my dad's old woman, a 19yr old Siamese my mom named Patsy.

6. What are your favorite breeds of horse and dog?
Horses: Quarter Horses and Percherons/Belgian/Draft type horses.
Dogs: German Shepherds, Akitas, Shih Tzus.

7. Do you have any hobbies? If so, what are they?
Gaming: I play World of Warcraft, Phasmophobia, Mario Kart, Among Us, Fall guys. Photomanipulation, Reading, Fishing, Photography.

8. What’s your favorite color?
Green

9. What’s your favorite Holiday or Month?
Christmas! & December

10. Do you have a favorite vacation spot? If so, what or where is it?
We don't take too many vacations but I remember visiting Yosemite when I was 5 or 6. I'd love to go back one day. I love all the mountains!

11. Do you have any special talents? If so, what are they?
Sleeping. I could hibernate like a bear if you let me.

12. If you could own any breed of horse, what would it be and why?
A Pinto or spotted draft cross. Maybe a Percheron/Appaloosa or a Paint/Percheron. I love big bootied pons with color!

13. If you could own any breed of dog, what would it be and why?
I would love to own an Akita again. They just remind me of cats in dog bodies. I was raised around the breed and they will forever have a special place in my heart.

14. If you could meet any celebrity, who would it be and why?
Lauren Daigle might be cool, I love her music.

15. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
Ireland! I've always wanted to see Ireland ♥

16. What would be your dream job?
As a kid my dream job was to be veterinarian but my math skills kinda blew that idea away. I guess it would be landscape/wildlife photography.

17. What would be your dream meal of choice?
Chinese food!

18. What is the top thing on your Bucket List?
I would love to see the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee.

19. What talent do you wish you had?
I wish I could sing better. Like something that didn't sound like a dying cat in heat. Yeah, that.

20. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Chocolate Malted Crunch.

21. What is something you fear?
Spiders. Really, anything with more than 4 legs can just go far far away.

22. What’s the funniest joke you heard recently?
Three ground moles are running through a mole tunnel….
First one says “I smell cinnamon!“
Second one says “I smell sugar!”
Third one says “huh all I smell are molasses…”

24. Any good books or comics that you’ve read recently? Just borrowed the complete Maze Runner series from a friend, so far I am really enjoying the first book!

27. If you could transport yourself to any decade of past history, what would it be and why?
Nineteenth century American Midwest - the old ways of farming and simple family life sound so good somedays. Life now is too complicated and fast and I feel like we're not really living....

PMS - Pepperoni Mushroom Sausage
