Below are the official rules for participating in the Epic Quest. While the Quest changes every year, these global rules apply to all versions. It is your responsibility as a participant to make yourself familiar with these rules! Disciplinary actions will still apply even if you did not know you were breaking a rule.

As the creator and game-runner for the Epic Quest, I have the right to change, add, or remove rules from the rulebook at any time. However, I will do my best to alert players to any changes made.

THE RULES

1. Unless explicitly stated, all activities should be completed alone. Asking for answers, giving answers away, or even providing hints can result in loss of prizes, XP, or disqualification from the Epic Quest. If approached for answers, please ask the player to message me instead. You may also choose to not reply and message me to let me know.

2. If you've indicated your participation in the month’s Epic Quest activity and are online during the week of the activity, you MUST reply to any and all messages sent to you over the course of the week's activity up until the deadline. Failure to reply to messages from other players (as long as they were sent in a timely manner) will result in you forfeiting your activity prizes. Repeated offense will result in deduction of XP points and/or disqualification from the year's Epic Quest. The exception to this rule is when a player is asking for help or answers in a solo activity, as addressed in Rule #1.

3. Intentional sabotage of ANY kind will result in disqualification from the Epic Quest. The only exception to this rule is sabotage that is included in the structure of the game, such as spells/actions that affect the XP of other players. These actions are validated and performed through me. Examples of prohibited sabotage include (but are not limited to) refusal to reply to messages or intentionally providing incorrect information.
