Freezer Bag Meals?

Okay so for the first time in two years I am not living with my other half since I graduated college early and he still has a few semesters left. This means that I am not around all the time to make sure he actually eats something other than cookout and burgers. I found some recipes for freezer bag meals where you prepair a bunch at one time and throw them in the freezer. All you have to do is dump the bag in the crockpot or heat it up in the oven when you are ready to eat and the instructons are written on the bag. Pretty simple. I made a few for the boyfriend a few weeks ago and he loved them because it was simple enough for him to cook.

I made a chicken/broccoli casserol and orange chicken that he loved but I was wondering if anyone has tried the freezer bag meal thing before and have some good recepies?

What my boyfriend and I do is more in reverse. We'll make a batch of things in a crock pot, huge batch, freeze, and thaw at a later date. What you're describing sounds really good too though!

So I guess I'm saying I'm stalking your thread for ideas. :3

I don't do this, but I've always wanted to try! What I do when I want frozen leftovers is make a double batch and then freeze what is left :).

So is it like... you start something/assemble the ingredients in advance and then take it out of the freezer to actually cook?

Are you thinking of something sort of like Pampered Chef does?  They just came out with this new type of party that is called Freezer Meal parties...I would check it out and google it, people post the recipes all the time!

Pinterst!!! That's where I got the two recepies I tried haha

I'm totally going to have to look up the Pampered Chef thing because I have Pampered Chef cookware and love it!

I've tried doing the leftover thing but I have, what I liked to call my adopted children, which are my boyfriends friends that randomally show up when they know I'm cooking and believe me there is NOTHING but dirty dishes left lol

and basically you mix everything up, dump it in a bag, and cook it in the crockpot or oven. The chicken/broccoli casserol that I made I boiled the rice and baked the chicken and mixed it up with the broccoli and cheese and such and you cook it in the oven for like 30 mins to pretty much heat it up and melt the cheese.
