Not sure if this is right place lol seeimg it kinda cat related Q i posted here?
anyways anyone know of anything to get rid of fruit flys/gnats in indoor house plants? I have some cat nip plants i trying to grow and theres are gnats/fruit flys in them. Tryed to use the diatomaceous earth (food grade)and it doesnt seem to work. The bug zapper helps. But i want to get rid of them. It has to be pet/cat frinedly as it cat nip and will be for them lol i have bug netting over them. I have them inside with an grow light cause i had inch worms in them when i had them outside and before the netting. Plus it gonna start heading into winter. |

If winter is near by, then they probably like that fact theres a light source keeping them nice and cozy |

I've always gone with the soap vinegar method. Mix a couple drops of dish soap in a bowl of vinegar, mix and place it near your plants. The harsh smell should deter you kitties from trying to drink. I'd also suggest rinsing the plants to make sure no eggs or larvae are hanging out. OR to play it really safe, you can just put ACV in a spray bottle and spritz the cat nip every now and then. It's not harmful to cats but def let it air out before they nibble it otherwise they may turn their nose up completely lol This isn't the most effective way though - it repels not kills |

I use little sticky traps in mine. I just bought them off ebay to combat my fungus gnat problem, and they worked a treat. This is what they look like: https://www.amazon.com.au/Trappify-Sticky-Yellow-Indoor-Outdoor/dp/B07JL8L79Q You can just hang them in the branches. I haven't had a problem with gnats since I started using these. |
