Hello, first time in a few years doing a photo manip. It's rusty but the only tool I know is the eraser so feel free to critique ??

I plan to make monthly themed images for all of the horses born/purchased from the store in any given month as a way to practise! Obviously, October is hallowe'en!

Just checking that everything meets the rules and would love any feedback, tips or tricks! Its so difficult getting a clean line that isn't sharp against the background ?

So I've played around with shadows and lighting since originally posting this, and I'm much happier with it! Still happy for anyone to share critique or tips :)

Wow, that is great! Especially the second one when you played around with the lighting more! It works so well. ♥

The eraser tool is my best friend xD

I love it!  What program are you using? :)

Love this, it's super cute!

I second Amber; the eraser tool is great BUT that depends on whether or not you have a tablet, as I would find it super tricky to get a clean line using the eraser with a mouse or laptop touchpad (might just be me though lmao). I tend to zoom in super close and use the Polygonal Lasso tool in photoshop, though I know plenty of PS users swear by the pen tool for selecting things.

I wasn't expecting so much support, thanks guys!! Is anyone else hyper-critical of their own work or just me? :/

I'm using photoshop and a mouse, though I feel like I might need a pen?

I could never do a commission, Oak, I'd be too worried about whether or not you liked it lol.. I might be brave enough to do a premade or two for bids though!!

Nope, I am super critical of my own work. I usually hate everything until 5 minutes before it's complete, and then often still question pieces when I look back at them later. I guess it's what helps you develop, though? If you're completely satisfied then there's no reason to grow.

Honestly, I just have a little wacom one tablet right now (not sure how much they are elsewhere in the world, but on the UK amazon it was £50), and it has served me SO well for the last year and a half. If you can afford one and you enjoy dabbling in photoshop enough to justify it, then I would 100% recommend going the tablet route as they just make it so much easier (and quicker, too).

Def gotta do some premades, I'm sure they'd be snapped up. I love how inventive the concept for this one was, it's very unique. :)
