Hey yall! So some of my css (especially for accordions and the like) tends to get really long so I was going to do the external CSS thing to shorten it up! I have done this on forums like and Jcink before so I know how it works but cant seem to get it work on HP so my question is; can have externally hosted css on hp layouts? if so what in the world am I doing wrong?!?! haha

Yes you can! The way I've always done it is here: http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_howto.asp Under "External Style Sheet". You just need a place to upload your css or javascript files. I personally use Google Drive, with the add on applications "Editey", there's a CSS Editey, Javascript Editey and HTML Editey which allows you to edit your file in real time. You can also just create the document in a text editor on your computer (I use Text Wrangler) and save it as a CSS or JS file and just upload that directly to google drive without any of the additional apps.. From what I recall, I don't think you can actually edit a CSS or JS document on google drive without the Editey add ons though.. There's more info here on specifically how to link google drive documents into your layout: http://www.safetricks.com/2014/07/host-upload-files-in-google-drive.html |

Thank you Uni!!! I think my problem may be where I was hosting it so I'm totally going to use Google Drive now! |

My layout HAS external CSS and I always wondered how you did it. That would make my life so much easier as accordion codes just go on forever. Link Tree |

The problem I've had with external CSS is if the host site is having issues, then your stuff doesn't show up. I've also had major lag loading pages some times. I've recently switched back to having everything on my page haha |

^ Yes, that can be an issue.. I know recently several people have lost their layouts on here because the webiste of the person who coded the layouts is down or was deleted, and now they're entire layout is gone.. though Google/Google Drive is pretty reliable.. because Google :p |
