Hi loves! I'm wanting to do a project pair of Borzoi at some point in the future, though not any time soon lol I was wondering, for those of you who have done a successful project pair, what was the cost? I've got a few goals I want to reach - highest pointed of breed, all time dog rankings etc.. I don't expect each dog to reach 20 million points but around 12 mill would be ideal.

My focus would be on the female, but I don't want the male to be left too far behind.. how did you go about budgeting/splitting things for them?

How many ticket sets in total / per animal?

De-age?

?

I've got a ways to go for savings BUT it would be nice to get some ballpark estimates.

I haven't gone a big two animal project myself but I've ran some numbers when I was thinking about it. Basically deciding what my point goal was to see what it would take to get to that point using the calculators from Help Mango.

What resources do you have of your own like private shows/tickets? The more you have the less you'll be paying for stuff from other.

I've messed with monnie's calculator and got the 'base price' with privates my own tickets. I have close to nil for my own and I'm seriously thinking about adding more upgraded accounts to cut the cost 'cause so far.. ooof

I'd like to do a pair but if it comes down to it I'd focus just on the one. I still don't want the mate to be anything under 5 million though 😪

If you do 100 privates (with 10 entries so you can buy spots instead of whole shows) it'll get you almost to 7mil which is a nice start. You could always pay for more than two spots in someone's shows but not enter more than the two project animals. Past that you'll be paying out to butt (like 12bil) for tickets to get points to 12mil.

Buying more spots and not filling would have never crossed my mind, thank you! I think my original base was around that per dog and I've estimated I'll be saving around 30 bill minimum.

My numbers are going to be slightly off because I was thinking it was a horse project xD but yea, as long as the show selling isn't loosing month they would be getting otherwise I don't see how it would matter to them how many dogs actually get entered vs how many spots have been paid for. If they're like me and use shows for themselves as well then it would make their own dogs' points go up too.

Just as a reference, I've completed three projects myself over the 10 or so years I've been a member of HP; 10mil horse in 2012, 18mil dog and their 13mil mate in 2019 mascot contest, and 32mil dog a couple of weeks ago. Also, a lot of the numbers I've pulled for this post come from the Help Mango website; this is an AMAZING resource everyone should be using!

In my opinion, this is the order of importance for any and every big project animal: Two-year de-age and permanent extra energy from the cash shop are the first priority. Securing 100 private show spots is the second priority. Tickets are the third priority.

100 private shows per week (400mil cost over the lifetime for one dog spot) net you around 313,000 points per week. With a two-year de-age, they'll earn an average of 5,321,000 over 16 weeks. You will need around 6,679,000 points through tickets to hit 12mil; that is 1,188 sets of tickets. With estimating 125k per ticket, you're looking at 11,137,500,000 HPD needed for the tickets. 125k is the median usually for dog tickets; you will definitely find some for less and some for more. Bulk sets can be purchased on the cheaper end, especially if you pay via upgrades instead of HPD if that is something you are able to do.

So, to be safe, I would estimate about 15bil HPD per dog to reach 12mil points by retirement. You will most likely still have leftover funds, but it's best to be fully prepared before starting.

Something to keep in mind if you're wanting to do a pair of dogs instead of focusing on just one is the number of tickets available through the site as a whole vs the number of dogs being ticketed at the time. I just completed my project and was able to secure 4,744 sets of tickets over 16 weeks, but at least 1,200 of those sets were doubled sets specifically for me/paid for by me. That means there are roughly 1,000 sets of tickets or less available on the site per month right now. This may go up as time goes on, but I can only imagine that it will probably go down given how difficult it has been to secure upgrades lately.

Also, if you are willing to wait and are okay with spending a bit more due to ticket competition, I highly recommend partaking in the mascot contest for a project. If you really work your butt off and campaign hard for players to recognize and vote for your animal, you might be able to win the grand prize which gives their mate the same amount of points they earned during the contest plus get both of them aged back to 2. This was huge for my 18mil/13mil projects in 2019.

I hope this helps! Projects can be very fun, but also very grueling. They are 100% addicting though. Good luck with yours!

Mascot has been a passing thought, I may try for 2024. Thank you for this Jade!
