Just wanted to share my new little guy born this morning! I know it's a weird time to have a foal but it wasn't planned. I bought my stallion November of last year and he is pastured next to my mares and yearling colt at the time. My colt is a lock picker and while I had hooked the gate with the chain I forgot to put the chain in the clip to keep the colt from getting it open. Well I heard a commotion later that night and ran out to find out what was going on, my mare and the colt were in with the stallion. Talk abotu freak out! Luckily I was able to get the colt out with no issues and moved the mare back to her pen. Flash forward 346days and we have this little fella joining the herd!

I had planned to breed Brandy but not until spring 2014 for a spring 2015 baby, well looks like mother nature had other plans. This is 'Duke' my bay dun colt born last night. He is such a handsome little guy and he already knows he's hot stuff! He is named Duke after John Wayne. Registered name is undecided as I have had a lot of good suggestions.

I have the following names suggested: Son of a Digger, A Settler's Whisper, Digger's Shadow, Whisper's Shadow

Thanks, I have said since we found out she was pregnant that if it's a colt his name would be Son of a Digger. I was really hoping for a filly but I am 4 for 4 with colts now and my cousin is 3 for 3 fillies. Next baby I think I'll let her breed it for me lmao Here are some pictures from today, my phone sucks so forgive some of the blurryness! He is just so stinkin cute!
