so for those of you who don't know me i'm ally! i'm from little old new zealand, right down the very bottom of the world. i have a horse and a half, yes that's right.
8 years ago i bought my new zealand sport horse mare, pippa. she has been the best horse in the entire world for me! we have done everything from showing to hunting. unfortunately a paddock accident a few years ago left scar tissue around her deep digital flexor tendon and a little over a year ago that tendon tore about 20%. not enough to actually make her unsound, but enough that if something were to happen it could be curtains for her. i decided to retire her so she could be comfortable and pain free for the rest of her life.
i decided shortly after her diagnosis to put her in foal... it was a hard process trying to choose a stallion but i eventually decided on cassiano, a holsteiner by cassini who was imported to NZ a year prior.
fast forward 339 days from 8/12/13...
 clover was born on 11/11/14, the same birthday as pippa! she is a very special foalie. in the picture above she is just under 12 hours old

Mama and baby are both so beautiful :) I LOVE Clover's markings.. she will be very eye-catching in the show ring! And her little pink feet and nose are the best haha :p

Congratulations on your beatiful little addition, Garnet! I think Clover is definitely one flashy little girl!
The last picture of Pippa and Clover is stunning. A very lovely picture of mama and baby.

I used to ride a horse out of Cassini! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that blaze! What a beautiful foal and mama :)

thanks for all the compliments guys! clover and pippa appreciate it ♥ clover is officially 2 weeks old in a few hours :) she had her first full body brush today and i sponged her legs (gotta get used to keeping those stockings white!). she is very curious and is starting to wander further from pippa. she learned about the joys of face scratches (pippa's favourite thing ever besides cuddles) today. might even think about digging the foal halter out of my wardrobe and bringing it to the barn soon!

She is so cute! I have heard that some of the most rewarding things is when the day comes when you compete on your own offspring with success...
I must admit for a second I had a blonde moment, thinking November is a bit late for a foal - but *dooh* in NZ or downunder it is getting summertime now... Per aspera ad astra... |

Oh my GOSH!!! I died a little because she is so cute!! What an amazing foal!! You are super lucky, I wish I could eventually breed my mare, but I have a feeling she's getting too old lol |

Can she be any cuter? no. no i don't think so. I want to keep scrolling up and down this page because it makes me smile so much. Pippa looks like such a good mommy. And the picture of them standing together, nose to nose is adorable. Baby has such beautiful markings! I also can't wait to see her grow up. Its crazy how long you've owned pippa. I think i remember on HMF when you were posting pictures of you progress with her years ago.  |
