Hi all,

It's been suggested to me both directly and through BV passing along the suggestions made in the mascot voting, that players want to have the ability to make suggestions and give feedback entirely anonymously, due to concerns that having their name attached to their suggestion would turn around and bite them in the ass or turn into some other form of blowback on them.

All feedback and suggestions on HP have always been thought about and taken into consideration as to if it's possible, feasible, how it would affect the game, etc., usually discussed amongst the admins (and sometimes Sam depending on how big a suggestion we're talking about), before either a change is made, it's added to Blitz' to-do list, or it's determined as not possible. The exception to this is obviously the ridiculous suggestions like "make upgrades free" and "make it so we can trade HPD for RLD" because obviously those will never be possible! :P Other examples of suggestions never considered would be those coming from trolls, such as "Blitz should go die in a hole".

All that being said, I'd like to discuss adding some sort of anonymous feed/back suggestions platform so that everyone feels comfortable expressing their views.

We actually already have had an anonymous feedback Google form since October 2021, that is currently pinned in a topic to the top of this Suggestions area of the forum, however in the 2 years it's been sitting there, there's only ever been 3 comments made. I've just closed the form while this discussion occurs (and will re-open it if that's what's decided), but it has been sitting there for awhile now unused, so I'm wondering if people are wanting a different way to communicate. I'm really looking for suggestions from you guys as to what would make you feel most comfortable. Also, there has been nothing stopping anyone from creating an email from somewhere free like Google, then emailing the admin email anonymously with their comments!

Also in full disclosure mode, these are the concerns I've had regarding anonymous suggestions/feedback:
- Getting a lot of anonymous hate from disgruntled players or players who have just received a warning...I'm a human and reading that stuff, even as someone in a position of power, isn't fun, and honestly my mental health shouldn't have to take a beating in the name of anonymous feedback!
- Receiving suggestions I need clarification on but not knowing who to contact to get a further explanation.

So what I'm wondering is...
- Do people just not know there's been a Google Form this entire time, and they're ok to use that?
- Do people want a different way to give their feedback instead?
- How would people like me to comment on the feedback/suggestions I receive? Through a monthly report post outlining any responses I received and commenting on them?

I would like to be able to answer the anonymous suggestions in particular, to be able to give a yay or nay and why that is. Honestly, a lot of what I say no to is because either a) the game isn't set up to be able to implement it, b) it takes the challenge out of the game by making it too easy, or c) I have no idea how to program what you want. 

So please. Now is the time to indicate how you'd like this to work!

(and yes, I do see the irony that I'm asking people who want to remain anonymous to publically give feedback on how you want to be able to do so, but there's not really any other way to be able to do so...)

I didn't know about the Google form.. but I was also on/off HP in '21 so that's a me problem lol

I like the idea of a monthly report! I don't have much to offer in suggestions game wise but I do like to see what's on the minds of others regarding so. It keeps me (a more of an idle player) that much more in the loop of things I'd, more than likely, turn a blind eye to.

I also didn't know it was there, whoops.

I do like the idea of a monthly report of suggestions that have been made and rejected and the reasons why. Then people are able to see what suggestions were made recently so it hopefully cuts down on repeats. I know every so often there's a repeat suggestion in the forums that gets linked with the response from the first one, so I think a monthly report kind of keeps it in everybody's heads.

10/10 didn't know about the form. (me and my excellent powers of observation). So, guess that's that question sorted. xD

I do second what Apo and Mako say - I like the idea of a little monthly check-in. Which, to be fair, the majority of the time I imagine there probably isn't a ton of stuff to be updated on? But occasionally specific topics rear their heads and probably having some sense of a timely (official) resolution that can put those topics to bed might help - even if it is primarily a case of 'we have discussed this thing to the extent that we are currently capable of given the present set of circumstances'. And might also prevent questions being raised time and again, as Mako has suggested - hopefully helping to save a bit of time.

LOL That would have been GREAT...

I didn't know it existed either or I would have referred people to it. www.jotform.com Is the only alternative I know of, but Google forms would probably be the easiest and best way. Google just makes things easier.

just as an FYI I just went there to make a suggestion and it says the google form is no longer accepting responses!
