While my long-term goal is to have a breed embassy or two of my own, I must admit I'm one of those club fanatics; it makes me feel like my horses are special and included in something. That said, most clubs are for active horses, ones age 3 on up. What about the cute foals or miscellaneous horses that may not be sporting type?

That is why I present ideally a 4H club if not a Trail or simple riding club; any age range and breed could qualify.

As a former 4H kid and jr leader, I'd even be happy to have this as an other category club to discuss crafting or animal care type topics.

The thing is, the registry requirements are decided by the club presidents for that month, so introducing two new clubs wouldn't necessarily solve this. Some presidents allow you to make a donation of a certain amount in order to bypass the requirements and submit animals outside of the normal registry requirements, though!

I can't remember which ones but there was recently a purge of a lot of clubs. The Barnyard Club was probably the closest I can think of to 4H. Pet Phonemena could be a good one to do crafting/animal care.

I agree with Mako. Some presidents offer open registration durning their presidency, some create rules but allow donations to exempt, and some are strict on which animals are entered.

We actually semi-recently (towards the end of last year I think?) cut down on the number of clubs due to the fact that there wasn't a huge amount of interest month-to-month for people running for president.

For Dog, we decided to basically have all of the AKC-recognized groups. Which...I recently realized we didn't have a Terrier club, so Koni added it yesterday.

For Horse, we kept it along that same wavelength, keeping ones that are breed "types" as well as the main riding disciplines.

Then we also moved/combined a few of the clubs into the Other cateegory because we don't need a separate horse and dog Mythical club, etc.

Thanks for adding the Terrier Club! I love terriers, I think I'm up to seven breeds on here now, and my little terrors don't fit in anywhere else! =)

I was also thrilled to see the addition of the terrier club, as my amstaffs didn't fit anywhere akc group wise either. I had been wanting to suggest it here recently but with the recent purge decided to wait. So it was an awesome surprise to login and see it added. Like you guys read my mind or something xP

Sorry all, work has been insane so I've had little online time. I'd love to manage a club or embassy, but I don't qualify yet lol. I appreciate the responses and explanation.

In regards to donations for any breed acceptance, I'm saving what hpd I have for future plans, but will keep that in mind as an option to satisfy my club entry desire.

Thank you everyone.
