Just a random thought I had, update the forum subscription coding to only send messages to players that have subscribed to a thread and logged in within the last year. Maybe this will cut down on excess messages bogging down the database? I just know that I can generate a ton of messages playing some of the forum games and I'd guess a good chunk of those messages are going to accounts that haven't been logged into in ages. I know they're deleted eventually but would it be helpful at all if they never were even created?

Coding is way above my head, but Blitz does monthly purges of messages for club accept/rejects, private shows, etc. to help with the message clog in the DB. :)

Yes! I do monthly purges of certain messages (ie. animal club accepting, private show accept messages, etc). That are older than a month, plus anything marked for deletion over a month old.
