so my princess pippa tore her tendon last year and i put her in foal. recent events mean i'm heading back overseas soonish so i wanted to try and have a sit on pippa before i leave to see if she was sound/sane enough to do something. i work for my vet so we decided to scan her this week when we had free time. the scan was positive, there is still scar tissue and about 10mm of thickening where the tendon healed but there are no tears or holes in the tendon at all! pippa will never jump or gallop or anything again but if brought back in slowly over an extended period of time she will be able to potter around. a friend of mine started a riding school up around the same time we put pippa in foal and she has asked if she can use pippa for the school. it will be a perfect job for her.

so anyway yesterday after work i decided to try and ride. i brought my trainer and another friend just in case anything happened but pippa was perfect! she was such a sweetheart! i'm going to try and get on her for walks as much as i can over the christmas holidays. i am over the moon to be able to ride my special horse again ♥
