I wanted to post this sooner, but I've been a little off my HP game since vacation. Most of my animals didn't get trained the week of vacation. And last week, most didn't get trained until Saturday. And 2 accounts didn't get trained at all last week either...oops

Anyways, I had a long-time childhood dream come true this summer for vacation! I finally made it to the Chincoteague annual pony swim on July 26, 2023! They had a record number of ponies this year. There were like 200! The most they've ever had swim açross the channel in the 98 years that the swim has been happening! We were standing there since 5 AM! (beautiful sunrise though!)

I think this baby must have been the Queen Neptune foal this year because she was the only one separated from the herd. The King or Queen Neptune foal is the first foal to hit the beach and come ashore at the swim and is the raffle prize for only $1 per ticket.

I have a video of the swim across the channel, but I don't know how to share that here.

I was supposed to go to this back in 2020 but then covid happened and cancelled it and it's been cancelled pretty much every year since. But my husband tried again this year. Made all the plans and reservations in January/February and gave it to me for my birthday in February. Then it was torture waiting from February to July. So I started my Chincoteagues back up on here on this account in February to help occupy my time. Eventually, the time came! And it was worth the wait!

That must have been an incredible sight to witness, sounds like it was definitely worth the wait! Kudos on the self control, I would almost certainly have ended up stealing a baby pony or two to bring home with me xD

@amberellie, you totally should! Anyone who enjoys horses should get there at least once. But bring knee high muck boots and bug spray. You have to walk right down into the marsh.

@utakata, I wanted one! But my husband and I were talking about buying one and joking about how we'd get it home since we don't have a trailer. "Strap it in the bed of the truck" haha At least we weren't stealing it. But I already have my Moxie girl, so we can't afford another at the same time unfortunately.
