So not sure how I feel about AI in the first place, but as far as graphics go... Adobe recently added the AI generative fill tool in Photoshop and I have been messing around with it a little bit. Some of it really looks like crap, but if you mess with it long enough you can actually get some really cool results. I was messing with the backgrounds of several premade images I wanted to post, but then I thought about crediting...

I searched on the forum and didn't see anything about AI, but if there is already a post like this I couldn't find it. What are the rules when it comes to AI-generated images? Are we allowed to use these tools at all? 

From what I found, as per the Rules, section Graphics & Layouts, last paragraph:

AI-generated images are not permitted on HP, as part of an graphic, or on its own.

I'm curious though, if this is a blanket ban on any AI generated image, or if one is permitted to use an AI image that's generated by somebody else, like all those free image websites, e.g. freepik, shutterstock, etc.

I'm sure someone more qualified than myself will pop in to clarify things, but I'm fairly certain that it's a blanket ban - I don't believe that the issue was with who was providing the AI image, but more with the general dilemmas of crediting a resource that essentially draws on a plethora of information in order to function when much of said information is not stock.

Basically what Uta said...it's a blanket ban. There was a new post about it, which is the same news post that she's linked above from the forums.

Thanks for clarifying! It sucks when you see a great layout/horse image somewhere and then it says AI-generated.
