Happy December all! For today's event, I am hosting something very dear to me; Random Acts of Kindness!

I want to hear about all of the things that you lovely people do in your everyday lives that are random acts of kindness. This can be as simple as stopping to open the door for someone and letting them go into a store before you, letting someone cut in front of you at a store in the checkout line, or if you volunteer somewhere during the year!

Was there a time that sticks out in your mind? 

Prize will be 5k points on an animal of your choice, or 2.5 mill!

On Monday while waiting in the eye doctor's office, after already being there for over an hour and starting to get annoyed at how backlogged and behind they were, I decided that getting annoyed wasn't going to help me or anyone else in there at all. Instead I gave up my seat for a newer patient coming in and stood by the doorway. Then any time someone entered the waiting room or left I nodded with a small smile. Which seemed to brighten another person or two's day. So just a simple smile helps! :)

One thing I did recently for my BFF is buy her "Friends" socks, as she is obsessed with the show. I randomly saw some at the store and KNEW I had to get them for her. Ironically I got them only a few days before Matthew Perry passed away, so when I gave them to her, it seemed even more significant than I had originally planned.

Hey, is it okay if I brag on someone else and not me? I try to do RAK and honestly I just don't have enough people interaction that it makes a significant difference. But if I may, I'd like to lend my story as a random act of kindness. 

So I was coming home from a therapy appointment, and it's a quiet sidestreet until you get to the highway. Which, the highway is what I have to take to get home. 

I'm on my way home down the side road it takes to get to the highway. My low tire pressure light came on. Immediately all the worst case scenarios start running through my head, being stranded on the side of the road, or even worse my tire exploding and I swerve out and literally die.

I was driving down said side road, and the tire pressure light came on. I started to panic, thinking all of the scenarios that could land me in hot water. From being stranded, to being dead. I had to drive home a back road curvy highway, the last thing I needed was a low tire.

I was driving the side street, thinking all of these things, and I came upon a guy mowing his lawn. He had these big earphones on and I just...I thought of it so last second, my tires literally peeled out when I stopped.

I had the immediate thought, just right then and there, to stop and ask this guy for help. So my tires squeal, I come to a stop and this guy on his lawnmower takes his headphones off and comes up to my passenger side window. I tell him "I know this is weird, and you don't know me, but if I drive home on these tires I might die on the way home. Can you help me?" and without a second's hesitation, this guy nodded and said "Come on" and motioned me into his driveway towards his garage. From that point on, he went to each of the four tires and aired them up. As soon as he aired up the first one, the sensor light went off. I leaned out the window and said "Hey, the light turned off?" and he shrugged and just kept going and muttered "I have to check them all." 

This sweet, sweet man went around all four tires. Checked and aired them all up to precise measurements. When he was done I leaned towards the passenger window and told him how thankful I was. I feel I might have embarassed him a little bit cause he waved me away, but I told him how nice and sweet it was to air up all four of my tires and make sure I was completely good to go. He nodded a fast "no problem" and sent me on my way. I thought about him and his good deed for several days to come. And I don't go down that road without thinking of what a nice guy he was.

Helped out a fellow classmate in one of my obedience classes, she was having trouble figuring out how to teach her dog how to heel -- gave her a few pointers that had helped me and suddenly they were pros!
