Suggestion/Feedback Summary, February 2024

Every month, by request, I will be making a post summarizing that month's anonymous suggestions/feedback, and my response to them. Each submission will have also been shared with the other admins for their feedback as well (especially if the submission specifically pertains to their job), and their views are also expressed here in my summary, as indicated. Feedback from other admins is in their words...I just copy and paste it into the post.

#1: maybe allowing premium members to host more shows? maybe instead of 2 publics, they can pay a fee to do 4 a week, just because I've noticed a lot of public shows have 30, 40, 50 animals in them.

At this point, I'm not looking to up those numbers. I did  elect to up the number of auto shows that get created with the Sunday cron for the next week, however, the week before mascot started.

#2: a ticket counter, maybe somewhere in the animals information area. Not sure how hard it would be to code tho... but each time the animal got a set of tickets(or a double set) it would add to the counter?

While I think this would be super cool, I have 0 idea how it would be programmed/implemented, as HP's existing "back end" coding/database tables doesn't record this anywhere. So, in short, won't be added, sorry! It's an interesting idea though!

#3: Emergency Upgrade Time

Sorry, Anonymous person, I'm not sure what you mean by this. Going to need more info...

#4: Emergency Upgrade Time, for example, the option for a lesser ($3) to upgrade for 1 week. For players like me for example I upgrade monthly on my payday and sometimes a payday will fall on 23rd/24th of the month and others 28th, so an emergency top up would help someone like me who can’t afford the $6 for one month (yes I know cost of living lol) and would save me the cost of another player upgrading for the sake of a week. Hope this makes sense lol.

Hah, and there's the info I wanted. Now I want to know if both #3 and 4 were suggested by the same person, or two people talked about it and both submitted for it lol

Seeing as this involves non-game money (aka RLD), I had to consult with Sam. Even though I basically make sure the game stays running, she's still the one who owns it and pays all our bills to the server people, plus pays us staff. Her response came down to PayPal...for every transaction, PayPal takes a flat fee of 30 cents, plus also a percentage of the sale (which varries apparently depending on what currency you pay with). Selling anything for less than $5 isn't worth it from the "company" perspective with those fees that are taken off.

Based on the assumption that you, Anonymous player, get paid monthly every 4 weeks, but every few months you need a 5th week to keep you going...my suggestion is to try to get ahead of it. I know that's probably easier said than done, however, I feel like, if you manage for one month to both upgrade yourself a month AND pay someone else to do it, and try to keep yourself one month give or take ahead of expiring, you won't get stuck short a few days. 

I feel like me saying the above makes me sound elitist...not intended at all. I'm really struggling to word the previous paragraph to get out what I'm trying to suggest. I also know it would ruin your anonymity, Anonymous player, however if you're ever SUPER stuck, or want to try to do the above and need someone to sell you a HPD-discounted 1-month to try to get you ahead by a month, shoot me a message and I will hook you up. (Please, everyone, don't flood me with messages claiming to be Anonymous player lol)

#5: When will we see the achievements from 24 DoC and the word search? I know you guys are busy but it's been awhile!

Honestly? I completely forgot until now about the Word Search achievement... #fail. I will get right on that now before posting this.

24 DoC ones are on the agenda today! They are going out to those who've completed at least Half Days & those that completed All Days of activities! So same instance as the year or two prior for earning the achievement art! :)

Prior to Blitz's poke, I honestly thought I had awarded them back when I was awarding the final prizes from the event. Like I remember making the art & sending it to Blitz to upload into the database for me to then create in our admin panel to be able to award. Checked it off in my head and notes all the while my focus wasn't 100% due to this pinched nerve neck and arm pain thing I was experiencing and working myself up about getting things ready to go for Mascot. It just left my thought process all together. I looked back over my notes & then searched the players it should have gone to and nope, they aren't there. Gah! I'm usually not this scattered. Like ever. January & February were rough, but thankfully this month seems to be doing better! I am sorry about the dealy! D:
