The Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing, commonly known as the Triple Crown, is a series of US-based horse races for three-year-old thoroughbreds. It consists of the Kentucky Derby (held at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY), Preakness Stakes (held at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, MD), and Belmont Stakes (held at Belmont Park in Elmont, NY). The three Triple Crown races have attracted over 4,200 entrants since they were established. Justify was the last horse to win all three races and achieve the Triple Crown in 2018. Secretariat holds the fastest speed records for each of the Triple Crown races, the Kentucky Derby (1:59 2/5), the Preakness Stakes (1:53), and the Belmont Stakes (2:24).
Welcome back for another year of TTCG! This event has been hosted by me almost every year since it was established in 2012. I genuinely look forward to running this event for the community.
While this game revolves around actual IRL horse races that will be run over the next month and a half, YOU DO NOT NEED TO WATCH ANY RACES OR KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HORSE RACING IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE! While I will post updates about the races and the contenders, this is provided as optional reading to help players become more knowledgeable about the participating horses and the sport. Have a question about horse racing? Feel free to ask in reply to this thread, and I will do my best to answer it!
Opening dates for each race are tentative. Depending on the information available for the running horses, they may open later than planned. I will post a reply to this forum thread when the draws open for each race. If you wish to be notified each time draws open, you can subscribe to this thread and you will be messaged each time a reply is posted!

PREAKNESS STAKES: 5/13 THROUGH 5/18 6:00 PM EST
BELMONT STAKES: 6/3 THROUGH 6/8 6:00 PM EST
To participate in TTCG, you will need to purchase draws for each race. Each draw will assign one horse to you at random using a generator. You can have a total of three draws per race. Draws can only be purchased once their respective race is imminent, typically a week before the race will run (see the tentative dates listed above).
I.E. When I post a reply to this thread stating that the Kentucky Derby draws are open, you can send the HPD to #113 for 1-3 draws for the Derby, depending on how many you would like. You can repeat this process when draws open for the next race. There are three races in total.
DRAW 1: 10 MIL
DRAW 2: 15 MIL
DRAW 3: 20 MIL
If you are a newer player (joined in the past twelve months), you are eligible for a 75% discount on your draws! You can view your join date on your home page.
ALL FUNDS RECEIVED ARE ADDED TO THE JACKPOT FOR THE RESPECTIVE RACE. THE JACKPOT IS AWARDED AS PART OF MANY PRIZES FOR THE WINNERS. Every jackpot will automatically begin at 300mil (provided by me).
EACH DRAW WILL TAKE INTO ACCOUNT WHICH HORSES HAVE NOT BEEN DRAWN YET. If someone has drawn Bob, Bob will be drawn again once all other horses have been drawn. This will ensure that every horse is drawn at least once, reducing duplicate draws as much as possible.
IN THE EVENT THAT ONE OF YOUR HORSES IS SCRATCHED FROM THE RACE (REMOVED/WILL NOT BE RUNNING), ONE OF TWO THINGS WILL HAPPEN. First, if an alternate horse is entered in its place, your draw will be applied to the alternate. If no alternate is entered, you will be drawn a replacement horse from the generator.
IF YOU WIN, YOU WILL NEVER WIN LESS THAN YOU PAID IN. For example, if you paid 20mil for a draw 3, but your split winnings of the jackpot amounts to less than 20mil, I will pay the difference to ensure you get back what you paid in. This is a safeguard for the players in case a race does not have many horses and too many people draw a single horse.
HERE IS A BASIC EXAMPLE OF HOW THE PROCESS WORKS!
1. Blitz sends 20mil to #113 for a Draw 3 for the Kentucky Derby.
2. I randomly draw three horses for Blitz: Bob, Sue, and Nora.
3. It is now 5/4 and the Kentucky Derby just ran!
4. Bob placed 2nd, but Sue and Nora placed 5th and 8th respectively.
5. Since Blitz had their name assigned to Bob, they won the 2nd place prize jackpot. If someone else was also assigned to Bob, they would split the 2nd place prize jackpot with Blitz. Non-jackpot prizes (tickets, points, etc) would be rewarded via randomizer if multiple are eligible.

5,000 POINTS FOR ANIMAL (raffled to two winners) SPECIAL THANKS TO BV!
IF YOUR HORSE WINS THIRD PLACE:
20% OF THE JACKPOT (split equally between winners)
2,000 POINTS FOR ANIMAL (raffled to two winners) SPECIAL THANKS TO BV!
BONUS PRIZE: If you purchase a draw 3 and all three horses place in the top three in a single race, you will win 20,000 POINTS FOR ANIMAL (SPECIAL THANKS TO BV!) AND A 1 MONTH UPGRADE (PROVIDED BY ME). This will only be awarded to one person per race. If multiple people are eligible, one winner will be drawn via randomizer.

PARTICIPATION RAFFLE: Everyone that participates in a race will earn 1 raffle ticket towards a drawing for 10,000 POINTS FOR AN ANIMAL (SPECIAL THANKS TO BV!) AND A 1 MONTH UPGRADE (PROVIDED BY ME). This drawing will occur after each race and will only be drawn for the participants in that specific race. Your name will be entered even if you only purchase one draw for that race.
HPD DONATIONS: Do you want to earn 3x raffle tickets for the participation raffle? Donating 40mil towards the jackpot will grant you extra tickets for every participation raffle if you purchase at least one draw for each race to ensure you are entered as a participant. Each player can only donate ONCE. If multiple players donate during one race, the donations may be added to a future race instead of the current race to keep all jackpot prizes equally large.
*Your HPD donation bonus tickets do not apply to the first, second, or third place randomizer, only the participation raffle.
