How Double Points Month Works

Seeing as this seems to be a question I get asked every year, I've decided to make an official pinned post explaining how Double Points month works (and by extent non-double points month showing). Note that all of the below info pertains to upgraded accounts that are training animals that are their chosen breed speciaty on the Profile page.

How shows always work:

- You get 400 entry points just for entering a single show if the animal is your breed specialty. 

- All shows are judged randomly, regardless of what type of show they are (public, private, club).

- In addition to the 400 entry points, if the horse or dog places in the top 50 spots in the results of the show, they will be awarded additional points, as follows:

1st: 2000 pts
2nd: 1960 pts
3rd: 1920 pts
4th: 1880 pts
5th: 1840 pts
6th: 1800 pts
7th: 1760 pts
8th: 1720 pts
9th: 1680 pts
10th: 1640 pts
(etc)

Because public shows usually have a lot of horses or dogs entered into them, this is why private shows tend to give you more points...less entries into them = more likely to have a top placing and get more points. You also get 1.5x show points if your breed specialty horse or dog places in the top 10, which is a perk of all upgraded accounts.

How Double Points Month Differs:

- You get 800 entry points just for entering a single show if the animal is your breed specialty. 

- In addition to the 800 entry points, if the horse or dog places in the top 50 spots in the results of the show, they will be awarded additional points, as follows:

1st: 4000 pts
2nd: 3920 pts
3rd: 3840 pts
4th: 3760 pts
5th: 3680 pts
6th: 3600 pts
7th: 3520 pts
8th: 3440 pts
9th: 3360 pts
10th: 3280 pts
(etc)

You also get 2x show points if your breed specialty horse or dog places in the top 10 if you are upgraded and training a breed specialty.
