Cumberland Spaniel?

Back story: I took Lucky to the dog park today and the park is located directly behind our Humane Society. It's normal to see volunteers walking the shelter dogs around the fenced in area. Pyrenees are pretty rare around my area so most people don't know what they are and ask. No big deal, I ask people about their dogs are. It's just fun to see. Lucky isn't a Pyrenees any more XD. A lady walking one of the shelter dogs got all excited and shouted "What a pretty Cumberland Spaniel!" when Lucky was by the fence checking out her dog. I corrected her when she asked how old he was but I thought it was pretty funny none the less. I later heard her telling her friend about pretty and smart the "German Shepherd" was that was there with us but that dog was actually a Belgian Shepherd. My sister was there with me who couldn't care less about dog breeds but even she could tell it wasn't a German Shepherd. I'm a little sad I'm not a dog expert like her lol. Sad spaniel :P

Hahaha gotta love those kinda people, they do make me laugh =D I get it a lot with my pup, people are convinced that he has blue heeler in him! Even after i tell them what he is they continue to try and convince me he must have heeler in there somewhere just because he is a blue merle and has patches which look ever so slightly similar. |

People mistake my sheltie for a mini collie or "lassie"and I sit there and give them a 10 minute long breed lesson..... Moral of the story: never call my dog a mini collie or "lassie" |

Wow, I'd never even heard of a Cumberland Spaniel, and I live in 'Cumberland' well the county is now called Cumbria but I'm guessing this is where they originated! |

Then I go on Google, and I can't find this dog breed xD, now I feel stupid! Was it Clumber Spaniel? |

Such a pretty dog :).The biggest issue I run into is people telling me that Australian Cattle Dogs are not ACD's, but instead are Heelers (yes, they are, but ACD is what they're actually called). My dad has a red ACD. She's kind of a pain, haha. We also get a lot of breed requests on the game for heelers, when we actually already have them, haha. |
