Public Breeding(s)/Stud

Hello! I was curious if anyone offered public stud services or breedings, anymore. I know this is a feature of the game and it could have been popular way back when; I'm unsure. But I was thinking it might be easier for me to keep up with lines and training if someone offered breedings to the public. That way I would only have to worry about training one gender instead of two. Would others be willing to share lines in such a way? Are there pros/cons to the idea? I'm mainly trying to gather general thoughts and ideas about such a feature, so I won't be offended if you staunchly disagree with allowing outside animals to breed with your lines. |

I have been thinking about this lately as well, I was considering offering studs but also lend out mares for breeding as an option. If a stud or mare was lent out, I wouldn't sell backuos from them, so it would technically be the same. I reckon it would be a nice way for someone to get new blood into their lines without having to fill up with stores, or train multiple horses. |

I share lines more by buying offspring from people and adding that animal to my lines. Some breeds are so few and far between, it's not like the market is flooded with stud options. Plus, the breeding timeframe is so limited on HP that I'd rather not gamble on someone having a stud available when I need it without having to compromise on the points. |

I agree with trig... just cause sometimes people don't have the same ages/points as what you need, ect |

Another point is that by breeding to another stallion you now have more branches out there that can likely be inbred so it's better to keep one mare to one stallion to keep it simple and easy to follow. It's all around better to add to your lines with back ups from others. As they said above, depending on the breed you may be one of two or three breeds or even the only one. |

Yeah, not necessarily opposed to it but I'd want to plan it like.... when mine is born, so I'm not surprised later when it's breeding time |

I generally just offer my backups if people are wanting different genetics. But if people do ask I have before! And I have asked others to breed to theirs as well. Sometimes I have only done 1 animal at a time so I can spend money on that one (tickets private shows) and don't have time to train more. Not very common anymore but ? |

I do offer breeding to mine if you want to use any. I have A LOT of different breeds (they're all listed on my page so if you want to see what I've got and if it covers all that you need studs for). |

I'm probably more open to this idea than I am breeding back ups at the moment. Nothing more heartbreaking than watching your backups rot, or rescue them later from the HA. I am open to people asking though. Rosa is awesome, Rosa is fine, Rosa didn't write this... |
