Graphic Auction Image Glitch

Hello!

Β

I accepted a bid for my auction the other day and when I uploaded the final image I received an error that the image was over 500KB but the image was actually just over 300KB and the proper dimensions for the site. The page with the error also said that I successfully sent the image and that the auction was closed. I messaged the winner and they said they could not see the image, so I just uploaded the graphic to Photobucket to show them and sent it via message. What should we do about the payment (it was for $5,500,000 I think)? I'm not sure with the glitch if she can accept the graphic and I can get the payment owed.

its a known glitch and most designers send a link photo regardless if hp graphic auctions is working or not.

I did send her the image via Photobucket. How do I make sure I get paid, though? Should I just have the buyer send me the fee or is there another way?

I'll message the buyer and see if that will work. :) Thanks for your help!

Yes this has been an issue in the auctions for a while.

Most sellers upload a "dummy" image (sometimes just a 1px x 1px white square lol) to finalize the auction and receive their payment, and then send the finished image to the buyer through messages. HP is a very close-knit community and the chances of either party being scammed by doing this are extremely low, and if it does happen, we are able to track and find the culprit quickly, so you can rest assured that your transaction will be safe :)

For some reason it's always done that. To be on the safe side, I always send the finalized image over messages BEFORE I finanlize the auction. I just re-upload my logo that I use for a preview image.

Even if you get this error, if the auction says it closed, you will have still got your payment. Just make sure you upload the image elsewhere (like you did with photobucket) and message it to the buyer. You can confirm that you were paid if you check your 'Events', it will say something along the lines of 'Graphic sold to player #xxx for $xxx HPD' :)

Yep everythingn worked out. :) I just wanted to make sure the buyer wasn't out her money and it wasn't just sitting in limbo somewhere and I wanted to make sure I wasn't fined or anything either. She got her image and I got my payment so we're all good. It's good to know about the bug though because I definitely plan on doing future auctions so I'll make sure to include a preview image as the upload and send the finalized image over Photobucket or something.

Thanks for the help guys!
