how do you create your lines?

Hey guys so im trying to start some different lines and wondering how you guys go about breeding and creating lines.

For example, i started with two store horses (male and female). I train them, breed once at the end and then whatever the foal is I get a store horse of the opposite breed and train them together, breed at the end and so on.

With a larger amount of start up store horses, lets say 6 pairs, would you breed the pairs multiple times to get a group of foals going? eventually you would run out of horses or risk crossing lines and inbreeding. Or do you just continously get a store horse to match to the baby? Or is there another route?

Thanks in advance guys.

I usually have 16 horses at a time (8 stallions, 8 mares). So when I breed I get 8 foals, of various genders. Depending on my mood (and my bank) I either buy them store mates of the opposite gender, OR I go to the cash shop and make my lined foals half of each gender -- so my 8 lined foals would have 4 stallions, 4 mares. Then I usually buy another group of stores with them to keep my lines where I like them. Just depends on what you're going for and what makes you happy! :)

I have a lot of horses of each breed that I train,  but its always an equal number of mares to stallions and theyre always breed in the same pairs. No specific number of pairs like Jaya. This varieties from account to account.

But I usually breed my pairs at 17 or 18. Sell that foal. If it doesn't sell by 3, it's marked for deletion. I never keep them so I don't have siblings to worry about inbreeding later.

Then I breed at 20 and keep these foals. If I get an equal number of mares and stallions as the foals, I breed them together. Makes more impressive pedigree in my opinion rather than having a foal with an impressive pedigree paired with a store mate with that half of the pedigree all saying "store." Depending on how low that puts each of my herds, I might go buy some more store pairs to train alongside and breed into my lines.

I do a bit of a mix of what has already been said.
1. Equal number of mares & stallions.
2. I personally prefer an equal number of breeding pairs in hopes I can then breed those foals as Nad mentioned.
3. buy more stores to match offspring when needed, and also whenever my little heart desires 🤣

I do a bunch of different things. :)

1. Put a pair or 2 into private shows. (couple of factors play into this tho, and factors are different for every player.)

2. Start with an equal number of horses/dogs. (I personally like to start with a pair of 4.) So 2 mares and 2 stallions.

3. Breed once for backups and sell them if I can.

4. Train them until they reach 2 mil or higher, depending on what my goals are for each breed that I've got.

5. Just before they hit retirement age I'll breed them again and usually by that time they've got 100k or more points when born.

6. Buy more store pairs to match offspring when needed.
