Wrong birthdays on stores

I was setting up a formula in google sheets to calculate each of my animal groups ages and I found something a bit off. And it seems to be mostly stores that I have found that are doing this.

Using this horse as an example:

When I put in the info it says it says this horse should be 17 based on this birthday. I was confused so I counted and the birth and retire dates are off. based on a 7/21/24 birthday they would retire on 12/15/24 but the animal page says 12/22 meaning the horse would be 22 at retirement? Idk if this is how the system is supposed to work or if this is known it just confused me a lot.

here's the same horse put into the formula showing it should be 17 today.

Looking at your horse Best Be Lookin (because you didn't tell me specifically which horse you were looking at for this!)...

The Retires date is correct based on the age of the horse...it's listing the day that the horse turns 21.

The Birth Date...I have a thought on that. I've tested something out, but have to wait to tomorrow to test it again before I can confirm I'm correct lol

The one on the example was one of my TBs but I saw this on a lot of my store animals lol and I only buy them on Sundays so I know it's not that. I'd have to look again to find it but I had one that was like 2 weeks off.

Forgot to look at this yesterday, just remembered to look now.

So.

The reason it's wonky for stores is because of the way it's worded in the code on the store page for when you buy a horse or dog.

For the part about calculating the birth date, it says last sunday -21 days.

That means it's telling it to calculate the date as 21 days from last Sunday when you buy a store horse. If you buy one on a Sunday, it's calculating it from the previous Sunday, -21 days. If you buy it on a Monday or any other day of the week, it'll go back to that week's Sunday, then count back 21 days, and the birth date ends up correct.

So what does this mean?

I can't fix it, because then it'll affect stores born every other day of the week.

I'm hoping that makes sense like it does in my head lol

I think I am following you lol xD It really just threw me off but I just adjusted the dates in my spread sheet so it showed the right age.

Wow......I have NEVER paid attention to the "Retires on": on a horses page until reading this post.... this could come in handy!

Hi i also noticed that the Born age is wonky. The retires age i think is correct but for these 2 different dogs the birthdate is the same but the age is wrong.

I noticed this on all my CBRs - their birth dates are 9/8/24, but I'm pretty sure they should be 9/15 to line up with their ages and retirement dates.

I have also noticed this about born dates. i always breed/buy on sundays and when i buy a store pair to match with a bred pair they always have the same retire date and age but different born dates. I've always noticed this but it didn't affect my training or breeding so never really looked into it. Verryyyy interesting xD
