About The Breed This month's breed is the Flat Coated Retriever! Flat coated retrievers are known as cheerful dogs who are intelligent and described as "forever young". As with most retrievers, they are larger in size and pretty high energy. They are selectively bird-bred dogs, with a look, size, and temperament similar to that of a labrador retriever and with long black or liver hair that sits flat. They are the 92nd most popular dog breed, according to the AKC!

Nawwww I had a curly for years - retrievers are amaazzeee dogs! Wish I had some spare upgrades for a set of these :)
