I was thinking about the how we named ourself thread.. (kirre is so close to kimberley I sometimes go to action work documents online with kirre xD).. annddd I was wondering after reading how many of peoples names came from pets (beaux and whynn, i'm looking at you guys haha).. but how did your pets get their names?!

MY lovely pooch (it can be any animal! I just chose dog because I am slighly obsessed with yellow fuzz and didn't want to bump her out!) got her name as we got her as Bagel the Beagle.. which is attrocious.. annddddd I think she thought so too as she NEVER responded to it.. and if I use it now I get some hillarr looks of disgust.

So, we started using random words and T was like "Oi Dopamine" (we were discussing biology at the dinner table.. just roll with it haha) and she actually walked over.. which was HUGE coz when we got daiz she was a little bit psycho.. anyway - so it went from Dopamine to just "dopy" .. like the dwarf - which didn't sound too good so she became "daisy" as we got her used to life in a decent house.

So thats my round-about-story.. and my last dog was Cooinda - which means Happy meeting place.. like that feeling of being surrounded by family.. (we don't have an english word) in one of the indiginous dielects of Australa ^^ and she was goorrggeeouusss ♥

Destiny - She is/was my foundation female, on the way home from picking her up I was trying to think of a name. Then it just came to me, she IS my Destiny. So it stuck..

Dream - Dream is off of Destiny, when I bred Destiny to the sire "Zero" I had high hopes for a Zero clone. Well I got it, she looks a lot like her sire as far as markings go. But of course the breeding was for confirmation, but I got that too! She was my "dream" dog, so it fit :)

Tuff - Ugh, I was 17 years old and thought I need a cute typical name for my new Chihuahua/Poodle puppy I was getting. My sister was joking and said "Tuff", yeah.. that's it. :x

Winston - Winston is our English Bulldog, we picked him up and his name was "Biggs". We just didn't like the name, he didn't respond to it either.. Sooo we came up with just Winston. Such an amazing name, right?

Kobi - My little brother wanted to name her.. He got confused, and wanted to name her another word that meant coffee. But somehow we managed Kobi. It's cute, and fits her!

That's really all I feel like listing right now, lol. I don't have any amazing stories ):

My mom named Sunny (cat). He's yellow. VER CREATIVE.

Our rabbit was originally named Cookie. I hated it, so for a while he went unnamed. I started to call him "punk" because he's an absolute jerk. That soon became pretty much all I called him and Punk stuck. His full name isn't HP appropriate. His other names are Binky Bunny and Hey, Don't Chew That!!. Cora calls him "BUNNNNNYYYY!". Very loudly. Then feeds him potato chips.

Angelo was originally Angel. We took "her" into the vet clinic when the tech said "she" was actually an Angelo.

When I was first meeting a property owner about coming out to feed animals while she was in the hospital for surgery I was introduced to the many feral cats that had been dropped off. There was a litter of kittens running around and most of them had URIs. The woman managed to snatch up one super nasty, booger-faced orange kitten. This FERAL kitten turned to a purring mess in my lap and I KNEW I had to take him home. On the way home my mom and I were bouncing names around to see if we could think of anything that we thought suited him. About a dozen names in I said "Cecil" and he looked up at me. He named himself. I miss my little spotty nosed brat. He was my heart cat, but unfortunately I lost him to a blood infection and medical neglect thanks to my parents. It makes me regret moving out without taking more animals with me.

My mom called me one morning during the summer to drive up to a local gas station to catch an emaciated, sick kitten. Ugliest little beast I'd ever seen. It took me at least 45 minutes to catch her. I ended up inching myself under a car next to cat poop. I'd get closer every time she closed to her eyes. Poor baby was exhausted. When I'd finally caught her and took her home my mom was going to name her Stella. I'm the one that caught her and I was going to name her. It took a couple days of writing down names I liked and narrowing it down, but I settled on Aiyana. Not like it mattered. Everyone calls her Monkey or Monster.

Ku'uipo: she was known as bella at the shelter... but I dislike that name because I was anti twilight back then XD so I was cuddling with her and playing with her at the shelter when my mother and I were looking at dogs, a song came on the radio called "My Ku'uipo" and i knew that was her name! It means sweetheart in hawaiian, and she totally is! Shes my love bug ♥

Ele Ele(goat): well the first owner called her ellie, but ele ele means black so the bf and I just stuck to ellie and her offical name is ele ele lol!

Haole Boy(goat): well... his original name was captian barnacle.. NO JOKE! So I was like nuh~ on that. Haole in hawaiian foreinger, so yeah.. lol hes total polar opposite of ellie xP.. tho he gets the occasionaly "STUPID" yelled at him for eating spider webs... >_>

MAile my bf german shorthair.. she was named after her mother lol

Yay I have one more to add!
Zoe got her name because it means life in greek, and it was a super bumpy road with her since she hatched and I wanted something that represented the fact that she's still here :}

I was 8 when I got my first dog. Well, I was 8. She has a dot on her head. What else was an 8 year old going to name a dog wwith a dot on her head? Tush, Dottie was named!

Blade kinda came with his name lol. It's a little odd, but that's, I'm ok with that!

Little Whiskey went through three different names before Whiskey actually stuck. We rescued this little snot after seeing her almost get hit by on coming traffic.

She started out as a Roxie. But it didn't fit her at all.. Then Lucky. But who doesn't name a rescued animal Lucky? So, we decided against that one. Then the name Whiskey came along. Now, what country person doesn't have a dog named Whiskey? Her colors is also the color of whiskey. Therefore, that name kinda stuck lol.

The shelter gave her the name "Felicity" which I wasn't crazy about. I brainstormed names for about a week, and during that time I kept referring to her as "nugget" or "nug," because she's such a cute little nugget! The term of endearment stuck and now she's officially Nugget. I still giggle a bit when I make her vet appointments, because saying "Hi, I need to make an appointment for Nugget" sounds kind of funny hahah.

My other kittehs are already on a previous post here, but my newest kitteh is Simba, although more affectionately known as "Ding Dong". He's orange and The Lion King is my favorite movie, hence, Simba. Plus, he's way to derpy to live up to the name Mufasa!! :P

And Kaya Marie, the Siberian Husky

Kaya is an Eskimo name. And Marie is because any dog you yell at needs a middle name. xD Kinda like a kid. She's more 3-year-old human than 6-month-old dog anyway... :P

Mordred was named after the character from Arthurian lore. He was a big buff black cat so I figured naming him after the villain was fitting. I was going to have all Arthurian cats but then Galahad passed away soon after.

Penelope was just always Penelope. When I was looking for a cat to adopt I had every intention of renaming them something from Arthuriana as well, but she's been Penelope for four years. I couldn't just change it. Then Peep just kinda... happened. But she responds to it still so yay.

Falthazur was named after a (male) dragon RP character my friend had back in the day. Oops. I thought I was so cool naming a dragon after a dragon but then he turned out to be a she. I've had her for 8 years so I don't feel right changing it. Everyone knows her as Fal.

THEN MY ROOMMATES CAT. They're moving out so I don't really care but they just got a kitten named Sir Jorah Meowmont after Game of Thrones and it's so cute.

Nikki got her name because it means "Victorious" and she has a really bad past.

Waldo, my goat (Female) Was named that because I could never find her when she was a baby and I kept saying "Where is she?" so... Where's Waldo?
