Using tix on a retired animal

For some reason i always thought you could use tix on a retired animal.. turns out you can't. But... i think players would like to be able to use tix on a retired animal, I know I sure would! |

Good morning binx! I know this suggestion has been brought up multiple times in the past, and it has always been a no go. I believe this is due to the fact of it leveling the playing field for all players to have the same amount of time to train animals to their highest. ![]() |

Shouldn't this then determine that we can't be able to train foals/babies that are under training age as well? I was under the assumption that we can use tickets because it's not directly tied to age. You can put points that you win in community events on retired horses -- so I don't see how that's allowed but the tickets arent? That doesn't seem to be "leveling the playing field". |

The problem with putting tix on retired animals is then people could just endlessly put tix on an animal and we would end up with 100 mill animals. It would be the same as when HL would allow as many shows on an animal you could put them in and the animals would just have insane points. ![]() |

I sorta understand.. but Lyn does have a fair point, we can use tix on foals/pups that are not of training age and we can put points towards a retired horse/dog from community events but we're not allowed to use tix toward a retired animal. From my perspective, it just seems odd. And what if the animal only needs like 100k points to reach it's goal, are we supposed to use a de-age every time we want to do this? I realize this might be a long shot and I'm not sure how this would work for coding wise, but what if there was the option to be able to have this feature? For example, if I wanted to get my retired animal an extra boost to 200k points, we could message an administrator and say that we want to be able to use tix on this horse/dog (ID #), and they grant permission to be able to do so? It could be like the pay to accept shows feature or something like that. For this feature, the amount of points from tix a person wants to add toward the animal would determine the price they'd pay for this feature. For example, if I wanted 100k points on one of my animals, I think a fee of 1 mil would be acceptable. Idk maybe it's something to think about :) |

I'm VERY new so take my thoughts with a grain of salt! But, I understand how retirement is a cut-off. I think it makes sense. To me, it's less about players having an equal time-line for training, but more about all players facing the same deadline to get points. Like Farewell said, opening the option up to apply tickets could definitely lead to someone abusing that ability to inflate one animal's points forever. However, if it's true that points have been applied to retired animals in the past via events like Lyn said, that seems like this rule about retirement has been unclear. It's not included in the help pages info about training or retiring animals either, for example. I think it could be more clearly stated that retired animals cannot undergo any further point changes. Likewise, it likely should be against the rules to add points to retired animals via events. |

@binx --- Or maybe we could do something similar to the 2-3 year time frame for pups and foals. If I can ticket for a horse 0-2 years before they are training age, I should be able to ticket a horse 21-23 yrs old.
That might be easier than sending messages to mods/admins, they might get sick of that XD |

*removed mod hat* I want to state that all my posts are from a non-staff position. It still comes down to everyone has the same amount of time to ticket train an animal; 0-retirement. And then they can also de-age an animal if they are just shy of their goal and want to push for that. Using binx's example of the 100-200k shy. I believe the adding points from events onto retired animals was because this has been brought up in the past, and it was a way to allow people to add points to retired animals and not get the crazy quick points like tickets does.

Sure, but then again Moorf - not looking to argue, but buying the deages and such -- that's an "unfair" advantage to those who have the money for that -- just like buying tickets after retirement would be.
Additionally, you can gain quite a bit of points from the community events. So I would consider that a huge amount of points that can come from that. 100k at a time sometimes... so again... I'm not sure if that would be considered "fair"
I think it should be clear either way -- we can train just 0-20 (or 16) or open it up for points on retirement animals. Not halfway either way. That would make it fair. |

Yeah, I agree that it could be more clear across the site. And considering de-aging already exists, I still don't totally understand allowing it in community events. I'm not sure how much total someone could get from community events but they do seem common, and there's some events I've seen that reward all participants & not just winners, which makes it that much easier to guarantee points on a retired animal. I guess hypothetically someone who can't pay for de-aging is able to hit a goal via community events on a retired animal, and maybe that's a good option to have. If the case truly is that retired animals can ONLY benefit from de-ages or community events, I think this should still be made clear in the help pages. AKA specifically note that retired animals can't benefit from tickets unless de-aged, and note that the only way to get points on retirement-age animals is through events, etc. |
