So for those unaware, imgur is now gone for the UK, it no longer works nor can anyone in the UK see anything uploaded via Imgur. 

I figured I'd post this as an awareness announcement as a lot of graphics people use imgur, just unfortunately now, anyone from the UK cannot see anything anyone uploads using the site now.

as for someone from the UK..  pls use something else so I can see all pretty art again 😭

-admin hat- I have instructed staff to make sure that any screenshots they include with event posts be hosted somewhere not imgur, to make sure you guys in the UK can see them. As far as players, I can't really tell everyone "thou shalt not host images on imgur!" (because unlike when tinypic went stupid, Imgur isn't reusing URLs so we're not going to suddenly get a horse image change into a porn image!)...it's up to players to make a switch to something else, unfortunately.

What I can say, though, is that, if you start using a site to upload your images that allows you to set an expiry date, you might not want to for animal images, so we don't end up with another tinypic issue. Plus you run the risk of it deleting a screenshot for an event before the prizes have been awarded, so you'd miss out.

There's also one that some people on here use that often my computer doesn't like to load. I can't remember which one that is, though, so once I sort that out I'll let you know.

Edit to add: I guess I will also do some research in the next week as to if this new UK law affects anything else on HP.

Glad you posted this, I was just about to! I haven't been on HP for a few days and suddenly everything is purple and I can't see a whole bunch of layouts and pictures :')

Thank you to everyone seeing if they can change where they upload photos for us Brits! Proton VPN works on my phone with Safari if it helps anyone else! I think they have a free option too since otherwise they're expensive.

I ended up installing Opera Browser and using the free VPN installed and it works better now thankfully, it's just so stupid how the UK has kinda gone downhill thanks to our wonderful PM (:

It's so silly they could have just scrapped it since it wasn't a popular policy even with the Tories and yet :') here we are looking like villains if we want to browse or whatever online and didn't think this was a good way of fixing a problem. I find training so much easier on my phone so just in case there are other oddballs for the ProtonVPN suggestion!

I haven't downloaded it, myself. I just enable and disable it on that page as I need to.

Fantasy: If you're using it from a computer, Imgur should give you an option to go back to the classic/previous layout. You should be able to get the url from your Images page after that!

So glad I came accross this. I have lost my motivation with the game recently and now I have a bit more time I'm trying to get back into it, but I can't see most of the pretty pictures anymore. Especially the graphic auctions when it's important to see. Is it possible to disable imgur in that situation? 

kuwait - how do I use that VPN without downloading it? I was looking at paid ones but I don't know anything about them. I'm too suspicious of scams XD

Magic - depending what browser you use, you can get free VPN's that if active, you can still view things! I've downloaded opera now because theres a VPN what works on it you just have to re-activate it daily :)

So I'm not very techy, I use safari on an ipad. Does opera work on that or will I have to use chrome (for example) on the iPad? Sorry for asking questions, it's something I literally know nothing about
