Bamboo Create Tablet

So I've recently been looking into tablets and I'm working on deciding which one to get. I'm highly interested in Wacom's Bamboo Create Tablet but in a few reviews I've read that people are having issues with using it on a laptop? I lack a desktop computer so I would need a tablet that works well with a laptop. Does anyone use this tablet or any Bamboo tablet with a laptop and is it glitchy? Any feedback would be wonderful!

From what I've heard, a large majority of people who own Wacom Bamboos have serious issues with them within the first year - pens breaking, wires not working, things being twisted out of shape, lights not working... I've heard it all since I hang around the dA manip community quite a bit in addition to here. So it's a good starter tablet (if you're not quite sure how far you want to go with your manipulation or it's your first tablet), but if you're looking for something more expensive and longer-lasting...I'd recommend a Wacom Intuos (I have the Wacom Intuos4 Medium) - it's much more expensive and comes in a variety of sizes, but I've had mine for 3-ish years and with the exception of one port not working, it works perfectly. Very few problems. Previously, I used a Hanvon 4*5, which worked decently. I don't really have any complaints about it except that it was small but that's to be expected... I don't know if they even have these anymore as it was about 4-ish years ago. ... this was back when this was the cheapest tablet, even more so than the Wacom Bamboos. XDI hope this helps! Feel free to ask if you have any other issues. Long-time tablet user here :P Sig by the amazing {Veradaine! {deviantART | HP: #841 | AP: #130 {on hiatus} |

I have a Create and I must say I LOVE IT! I run a 2 GB Memory laptop that has a ton of pictures a programs on it so I can only use one program at a time but I've NEVER had issues with my tablet being laggy or anything. I use to use the Pen Tablet and I have to say the Create is sooo much nicer. It has a nice paper-y soft feeling instead of the hard plastic so it feels more nature and it doesn't hurt or rub on my fingers as much either. I think you should go for the Create! It was well worth the money! I haven't gotten the wireless adapter for it but I plan to It also uses the standard micro USB cord so you can buy a longer (or shorter) one if you need to! I actually will use my phone charger for it on trips. ^-^ I know there is a year warranty on it and so I'm pretty sure there is a return policy on it. I bought mine off of amazon but I can't remember there return policy was because I never had to worry about returning it so if you're worried I'd look into that. :) |

I have the intuos4 small and I LOVE it! I did have a bamboo and the intuos is SO much better. The pen feels more comfortable and you can easily replace the nibs (the pen tip) to different feeling. like, one feels like a marker, one feels like a paint brush, one feels like a pencil. The buttons and scroll wheel on the side make it so much easy to use in manips, in my opinion. |

I know you already made your decision, but I'll put in my two cents in case anyone else is interested in buying a tablet...I've used both the Bamboo Create and the small Intuos5. The Intuos5 isn't worth the extra money unless you're definitely going into a career in digital art and prefer a sizable work space. If that's the case, save up and invest in the large or extra-large. The small is overpriced considering it's ridiculously small size. The medium is about the same size as the Create, but $150 more. I'm a college student, so the Intuos5 line was out of reach for me. I bought a refurbished Bamboo Create instead. I haven't encountered a single issue, but then again, I take very good care of my equipment. I've read a lot of Wacom tablet reviews and frankly, most of the complaints I've seen about the Create involve misuse. The nibs ARE replaceable and you can get different kinds, just as you can with the Intuos pens. I find it also helps to tape a thin sheet of plastic (like those sheet protectors/sleeves) over the work area if I'm going to be pressing very hard and am worried about scratching the tablet. Find some that are slightly rough/non-glossy to mimic the actual surface. |
