It would be really nice if the player I have blocked could not see the account profiles that they are blocked from. It would also be nice if they could not see my posts in forums. Not seeing ads probably isn't possible, but that would be great too.

Disclaimer: I am not saying who because I respect others. I am in no way trying to start any drama whatsoever. This is just an idea I thought would be nice to have. I really do not want to cause a ruckus in the replies, so please be respectful of others!

Currently thinking about this, how it would work, would it be a problem anywhere to implement this if I did go that route. 

Not necessarily a major thing, but how would this work for forum games like the countdown/up ones, if someone can't see anything you're posting? Or in chat, if bingo is being played, how would that work if the person calls bingo and you can't see it? 

Would it extend to not seeing them in rankings, their animals, etc?

(Hope you can see it's not a simple request to consider!)

My other initial thought with this idea was...if you're wanting to block someone from seeing what you're posting on the forums or in chat like your post says, is it something you should even be posting it at all then if you want to block them from seeing?

Or...if you've blocked the player then advertise something, if they're blocked they can't message you saying they want what you're advertising anyways, so why does it matter if they can see your ad or not? (not a flippant question, legit trying to understand)

i think if we're talking aut facebook or even instagram you can't see anything from the other person and that person can't see anything from you.
i don't think it's necessialy a question on what someone is posting, but rather having that person cmpletely blocked from seeing anything you post in forums, chat, or yes, even the rankings. sometimes just having that person completely taken out of sight, also puts them out of mind, and would make the overall game/online exerpience better and more relaxing.  

I appreciate your thoughts, Blitz. I think it's probably fine if their animals show on rankings and I understand your points about bingo and chat stuff. I'm not sure how it would work behind the scenes. I will explain more in a message :)

I talked to our coder about this suggestion and he's brought up an interesting point:

If I block you, Delphic, because I don't want you to see my forum or chat posts, it will mean large chunks of interaction will suddenly be "missing" to give any sort of context, especially in conversation. And if what you're seeking also means that I don't see your posts, it means I too will miss out on a lot of context in a group conversation or thread. 

If you block someone on facebook or instagram, you can't see them and they can't see you, life goes on, and you wouldn't miss out on any of that context because you weren't interacting. 

Try going onto an active Discord channel and block someone random and you'll understand what I'm meaning about context. The conversation continues but you can't see what they're saying nor can they see what you're saying, which means if another person replies to either of you, you have no idea the context for the third person's comment because the original one is blocked.

Or even imagine this thread. In this case I have Ephe blocked, so I can't see her and she can't see me. To the two of us, this thread would make way less sense when you're replying to me Delphic, when Ephe can't see that I even made a post. You'd come off as looking a bit insane, talking to someone who's not even here :P

Even if it just blocked you from seeing my content if I have you blocked, but I can still see you, it would mean if Ephe asked me a question you wouldn't be able to see my answer. 

edit: I stand corrected. discord it just blocks you from seeing the person you blocked's messages unless you choose to click and open them. But from the blocked person's end, there would be nothing you said.

I hear what you're saying and I totally understand. Those are good points! Would it be possible to at least block them from seeing your personal page?

would it be possible to make the person page look like a banned account, but instead of saying "banned" it says "user unavaialble" or something along those lines?

Per our coder, yes that would be possible from a coding perspective.

I'd want to make sure enough people want things to change so that blocking someone also blocks them from seeing your page.

I agree, if i have a player blocked I'd like for them to not see my page and for me to not see theirs.

I think this sounds like a good idea. And it certainly has its uses. 

However, the two concerns I have off hand are:

1. Creating more conflict / drama because if I know a player's number, go to their page, but don't see anything, I know they blocked me or they will know I blocked them. And, it may be more inflammatory or cause more issues in places where the players involved are not actually blocked from seeing each other (chat, forums, etc.). 

2. How would that work if say Easter Eggs or Halloween Pumpkins were on a player's page and you have them blocked or they have blocked you? How would we keep track of who blocked who and what players can / cannot host Eggs or Pumpkins for events or you cannot participate fully because the page isn't visible? 

Not trying to be a pain....just curious. :) 

LadySword has a really good point with easter eggs and halloween pumpkins. I initially was going to agree on making the pages invisible, but that would then make egg/pumpkin hunts unfair. Say I block blitz, then I wouldnt find the egg on her page and she wouldnt be able to find the egg on mine. You would have to ultimately prevent anyone that has anyone active blocked from participating in those events which just seems way more of a bummer than seeing the page of someone you blocked or vice versa.

My vote is no. While I think its a harmless idea on the surface, the mechanics of this game are just not built in a way where you can just "delete" players from your individual game. While the thought of that occasionally does sound nice, I just don't see a way in which its even feasible without disrupting other, more meaningful, aspects of the game.

LadySword makes a very valid point with the easter eggs and pumpkins and other events. I can also see this causing more unnecessary drama/conflict. 

My other suggestion would be to not interact with the player/player that you've blocked. For example, say I blocked Blitz and she posts something in the chatrooms or forums, I can choose to respond or i can choose not to respond. You obviously can't avoid them completely, but wither you choose to or not to interact with them is your own choice. 

My vote for this would have to be a no.

if someone is blocked. and they clearly know they been blocked (not an here in there oppie) . where all adults Or older minors we all should repect that and leave the other party alone. yes theres been a few oppies. or i have no clue why. but in most cases it not an opps. now where not seeing an page can effcted like the eggie hunt and thouse events. so that be hard at times. but comes down to it if you know your blocked and why then repected those reasons. If it was over something done then dont keep making that mistake with others. If it something what was said. all you can do is say sorry and move on. mabey down the road after some time it can be mended to an point depends on what happen. I not gonna pick an side of yes or no. i dont know codeing. and as others said it can make it hard with some of the yearly events hp does

Also i do let people use my spares for enter alls only. If they are blocked. i will expcted them to not go mgs the player from my accounts. if there found to be harssing an player and that player comes to me. depends on what going on the player will get an warning. Also have an staff mgs me if needed. i would expcted this if an player who borroing the enter all breaks an rule that can effvted me.

I feel like it would cause more issues if like previously stated, you knew someones player number and went to their page and then found out you were blocked. or like the games where things are hidden about like easter eggs - someone could miss out. And I know there are people who use others accounts to help train etc etc - so really, a lot of times is blocking going to make that big of a difference? At the end of the day, its just a game and should be relaxing and fun to play. If we are all adults and older minors here, we should have the emotional intellect to just move on and respect the other / not interact to keep the peace of the game etc. Just my 2 cents - I know I am pretty new here over all but I think I have made an impression with a few of you already about how much I really love being here and the overall vibe of the place

Agreed! I think most of us try our best to handle conflicts respectfully and move on when needed, even if we don’t always agree.

If you don't want someone to know anything about you from reading your homepage, then I vote for removing sensitive information from your bio. section. Keep updates general.

For what it's worth....I personally live by the rule of "If I don't want it on a Billboard for the whole world to see, then I don't post it on the internet."

If the conflict escalates, don't respond to them, and certainly don't give them something to respond to.

Keep the messages, screenshot the chat conversation or forum post, etc. And with that evidence in hand, I would reach out to a Moderator to ask for help and have them intervene if needed.

Going forward, keep the player name and number of the individual who hurt you and maintain it somewhere. A notebook, an excel spreadsheet, a sticky note on your laptop. Whatever works. And don't engage/message/respond to/reply to/interact with them. 

And, if an official vote on banning needs to be made, please put me down as casting a "No" vote. 

I'd like to respectfully ask that we keep this discussion focusing on our opinons around functionality of game play. It's ok to agree or disagree on changing how blocking would work, but it's inappropriate and unkind to assume that someone doesn't want to see another's page/let them see their own page isn't emotionally intelligent. I don't think the comment was made out of malice, but I do think it's important to remember that it's also ok for someone to want to priotize their emotional wellbeing in ways that make them feel safe while still being able to enjoy this game.

Also how easy would it be to just make another account and still message the person or view their page ? Would the blocking be by email associated with accounts? If that's the case then someone can easily just use a different email to make a different account and the problem still wouldn't be solved
