Hamiltonstovare are a rare Swedish breed but they are the best kept secret in scent hounds. Hamiltonstovare are a brilliantly marked tricolor dog bred to hunt hare and fox singly or in a brace, never in a pack. They are one of the most personable scent hounds and are incredibly versatile. Hamiltonstovare are incredible pets and get along with almost any animal. They were created by the founder of the Swedish Kennel Club in the late 1800's. They are recognized by all major kennel clubs (FCI, ANKC, KC, etc.) are in the Foundation Stock Service in the American Kennel Club. They are fully recognized by the UKC as well where they are actively competing in conformation, weight pull, lure coursing, agility and rally.
