Rollover?

I think that HP should have a rollover system (similar to Lioden..) which basically means that your profile would not age if you did not log on and verify the rollover.

I'm not sure if this has already been suggested or not? Or whether it could be implemented? But I'm so busy at the moment and my Vizslas are getting older each week and I'm not able to get on and train them.

I once suggested something similar. Mystical Equine (R.I.P.) had a thing where you could lock your account for up to a month. It would stay locked until you logged in again and opened it. I think there was a thing implimented where you could only do it so many times a month. Or...something. I can't remember as it's been so long since the game was active.

I don't know if the rollover idea is such a good thing. Also, sorry if I don't fully understand the concept, I've never played Lioden before. I think the fact that you need to come on every week to train animals and enter shows, contests,...etc. and maintain your account keeps HP "alive". Lol, I mean, keeps players coming back to be part of the community. I think if people had such an open option to not log on because there would be no negative effects (animals don't age, won't miss a breeding...etc.) than people wouldn't be on as much and the community wouldn't flourish as it is.

I know many players come on to enjoy chat and the forums and the community but I still feel some or possibly most players may fade away because it isn't as prudent to log on.

I think maybe what Kuwait said, about a system where you could "lock" your account (or accounts) for a certain amount of time and then come back and have everything be the same as when you left; and that you can only do this so many times is a better option. I think this kind of idea would be better because I know sometimes life can get chaotic, hectic, busy, and crazy so sometimes HP needs to just go on hold for a few weeks while life gets calmed down.

I like the idea of this as sometimes i have to work a ton(such as this week for me)

i havent had a day off and have been doing 12 hr shifts...so now my animals that i pay rl money for will suffer...so i think an account option that locks only for a week would be great!

Kinda like how the bold chat works..where it resets sundays no matter when it was bought...

so if someone needed it more than a week they would have to buy it every week...

I really like this idea!! But having to buy to lock it every week if needed , I most likely wouldn't use the option...unless you could buy it and set a time limit rather than keep buying it every week especially if you can't get on to buy it for another week

I figured if players had to buy every week then they would have to come on hp and would maybe interact for a minute atleast...

I didn't suggest paying to lock your account..

my suggestion is a scheduled rollover at a certain time of day (say 2am HP time) so you can still play normally and simply rollover when it says to - it would benefit people who can't get internet, are moving, are too busy etc.

Don't exactly like the idea of roll-overs...Because they can make it seem like you're active, when you're actually not. I know that many people do not want to lose linages {don't blame them}, but I think a "lock" would be better.

I also disagree on it being a store thing, because you would be spending a lot of money at one time to accumulate the roll-over #1 or #2, as Azalie pointed out, would have to log on and buy it which completely defeats the purpose. I'm more in favor with locking accounts until you log back in or "freezing" your account {like you would a check} so nothing can happen until you return.

I dont exactly like the rollover idea but if there was a way to lock your account for X amount of time Id like that would save me from loosing hard work when I get busy. I like that the animals age without me being on here less I have to remember in my day to day life. I play a game where I have to login in order for them to age up and I dont really like it cause I forget or they miss something.

But then again it may be beneficial. But I am with if we could not log on it would make it to where less people showed up and attendance would drop.

Im not sure I agree with this.

I get the concept, I do, and I know we all get busy... but isnt that part of playing?

I don't really like the rollover/locking idea. As neke said, it's all a part of playing. I get busy and i've lost lines because I forgot to breed dogs but if I ever want to restart those lines i'll buy retirement breedings, because ultimately that's what they're available for; restarting lines.

I actually really like the ability to lock my dogs on the game Furry-Paws. Right now my dogs are locked from being on vacation and I have no worries about them. I've been so busy with things that I've downsized some HP stuff and am not putting much effort into it like I was before. It's kind of burning me out to not be able to take that break for even a week without feeling like I've wasted all the previous work put into my stuff. Granted, the training and daily interacts are a little different mostly due to how we reserve private shows but I still think it would benefit the game.

I do understand that it's all part of playing, I really do.. and perhaps thinking about it, a rollover every day wouldn't work because HP animals only age once per week and not on a daily basis but, if for example a rollover was only done on a Sunday then it would benefit players on vacation/no internet/cannot get on through no fault of their own. For example, I'm going away for a month as of next Sunday and that's four weeks worth - I either have to pay someone to watch my account (which at the moment I have very little) or I let it slide and they get behind.

I play (kind of) Furry-paws and it's an awesome tool, the locking feature. I have dogs that I've my heart and soul into and when I needed a break from the game they were still there for me when I got back. It's so much better than having to restart.

I like the idea of "account locking" so your animals don't age. I ruined my Lab lines last week because I was so busy I didn't have time to check everything. x.x
