Points By Retirement/Breeding Calculator

As many serious breeders on HP, we all want the HIGHEST possible points on our foundation or generation animals to ensure we'll get high-pointed, high-quality babies; there's always the stress though of our goals falling short. For example, say you have a morgan with 2.5mil at the age of 10 but your breeding goal is to have 5mil by the time he's 13 and 10mil by the time he's 20 so you can breed him to your 15mil mare; despite training your goal is under so your overall is 9.5mil at 20 and your mare is 12mil so you have to de-age to try again.. Being serious about my foundation pair, my AQH's are currently standing between 215k - 218k @ 6yrs {working on giving them 75k - 100k per trainable year}. Just like last time, I'm having trouble being able to know what points they'll be. I can estimate around 900k, but until they actually hit that age, it'll be a stressful battle. My overall goal is to have them at 1.5mil before breeding, but I think the only way I can do that is to de-age, train like crazy then breed them instead of a one-go. I wish there was like a formula or a calculator that could tell you. Since there has recently been added of when the animal retires {Mine being around September or October}, I'd like it so you could put in the current points your animal has and when he retires to give you an estimate. That way, you can train to get to your goal by that age and not have to stress training like crazy before breeding {or in extreme cases, de-age a horse and train it then breed it}. So, does this sound like something worth adding or am I just clueless and there's already a way to do this?

The only stipulation, I think, is that it would be a really, really rough estimate since shows award points/places randomly, you never know how many points your horse will get for each show and therefore, for each week. It's also hard to calculate if you're using tickets, private shows, and club shows in accordance with public shows. I know players usually look at averages-- like they'll watch their horses points and deduce that their horses usually get 50k-100k points each week and then make their retirement/breeding goals based on those numbers (calculate it themselves). |

I have a point chart for horses, and dogs, for 1 mill by retirement, and 1.5 mill, if you'd like it? |

I just enter mine in the max amount of publics each week and then breed either the Saturday before they retire or the Sunday before (depending). I have yet to have a store horse not hit at least 1 mill by retirement. The rest of the points are aided by breeding. I rarely use tickets or things like that, but then again I'm not one to spend obscene amounts of money to fund projects for 3-5 million pointed animals... |
