Overbreeding on HP?

I was wondering what the breeding conventions on HP were as far as overbreeding. How many foals is too many for one horse to sire/dam? What is a good amount for one breeding pair to produce on lines that are just starting out? |

If it is a popular breed, like German Shepherds, I do two. One at 13 and one at 15. I keep the ones born at 15 and sell the backups from the 13. I don't do horses, so I am not sure of the ages.
If it isn't a popular breed, like my other two which are Carolina Dogs and New Guinea Singing Dogs, then I only breed once at 15 and I keep them. |

I breed horse back ups at 18 and finals at 20 and for dogs I also do 13 & 15. I try to sell the back up no matter the breed. If hey don't sell then I delete them. It's best to only keep one from certain lines for yourself so you don't have issues with inbreeding later on. |

I'm the same as Concourse with pups. I breed at 13 and sell, then keep my main which I get when the parents are 15. For horses, I breed at 18 and 20.
This is an example of overbreeding. Though it was deliberate. And funny! http://horsephenomena.com/horses.php?id=171318&offspring=true |

I breed twice - one for me, the other for publics if people seem interested. Sometimes, 3 times if theres a lot of interest :) |
