I created a thread a number of years ago here about "my" two cats. Lots and lots has changed since then. I still have my psychotic ginger cat named Marmalade (the Menace). I also last year added 3 guinea pigs to the mix. Their names are Hope, Faith and Grace. Hope and Faith are actual sisters, and Grace is a pedigree beige that I got with the full intention of showing her, and (maybe) breeding her once. However that never happened lol.

At the end of last year a brown/grey tabbie cat made its way to my parents place and made itself at home. Sadly my parents already had two cats, and this little sweetheart was very "naughty" and "stubborn", didn't care that the other two cats hated her... she would steal their food and eat it without a fight lol. So my parents decided to give her to me. She's a small cat, with a roundish head and large eyes... and so I decided to name her "Pixie" (I changed my name here because of her). A few months ago I ended up with my final two animals, to make 7 in all. ANOTHER two long haired guinea pigs, whom I had intended to sell on, but fell in love with instead lol. My parents are not happy with it... but oh well. I can do what I like in my own home lol. They were named by the previous owners daughter... and they are Astrid and Emily. So I have now got Marmalade, Pixie, Hope, Faith, Grace, Astrid and Emily.... an all girl household hahahaa.

Wow! You do own a zoo! Do the cats get along with the guinea pigs? I feel like it would be a loud household if they didn't!

Marmalade the Menace is not "trustworthy" around the guinea pigs, but she will tolerate them on a good day. On a bad day she will lick them, then try to "taste" them... but I growl at her before she can do anything as I am right there holding the guinea pigs anyway. Ironically the two newer guinea pigs of mine understand Marmalade is danger, but know my other cat Pixie is not. Pixie is a sweetheart who sees them as friends, not food. Hope, my white girl who was my original guinea pig is super friendly. She actually pokes her nose out of the cage to do nose to nose touches with both cats. Marmalade runs away under those circumstances, and Pixie tries to put her paw through the cage lol. Hope will then bite her paws. It's funny. 

Wow, that is a zoo - A petting zoo :) As for myself, I only have two cats lol. 

Are the guinea pigs going to remain pets or will they eventually be shown? 

I did take the two original girls of mine (Hope and Faith) to shows when they were like 4 months old. They're only pet quality, not show quality though.. so I could only show them in the pet classes. Faith who is multicoloured (but predominantly black) got two certificates in the one show they entered in. She got a First in the "Smallest Guinea Pig" Category and 3rd in the "Most Colourful" category lol. The next time I went back to a show, I got Grace, the beige. I got her because I fell in love with that colour the last time I was there and saw the guinea pigs... and I was dying to win the bigger and better shows! I wanted to have her become a "Champion" as I was told she was of "great type". However after that show, I couldn't afford to go back for a number of months, and then when I finally had the money... they moved to a location even further away and I couldn't afford to get there. SO their show days are well and truly over. They are just my beautiful loving pets who shower me with so much love and affection (especially Hope LOL). 

Hope I guess you could say "loves" me (if indeed a guinea pig is capable of love. When she is being held by other people, and hears my voice.. she will turn her head to look in my direction and if I come close to her... she will climb off the other persons arm and try to climb onto my arm hhahaa. She also knows my voice and will call out to me when she hears me. She also LOVES licking my face... which my other guinea pigs aren't that fond of doing. She's my little snugglepuff
