I have just returned to playing this game after several years of not playing. I forgot at what age you can no longer breed horses and dogs?

For horses retirement is at 21 years old and for dogs it's 16 years old (so last breeding is at 20 & 15).

And to further that...

Store-bought animals always age on Sundays.

Bred/Lined animals age on whatever day you bred them on. (So if I do a breeding on a Wednesday, then the foal/pup will always age on Wednesdays!)
