How did you pick your player name, and how do you choose to pronounce it?

I chose Khaleesi when I chose to stick around this time, becuase I was seriously into the GOT shows at the time (I still like it, I'm just not seriously into it). I am always particular about making sure I'm not copying someone else's name, so I went to search players and found that there were no active Khaleesis so I took it. :) It's as simple as that lol.

It's pronounced ka-lee-see (you can also just goole Jorha saying Khaleesi and you'll be able to hear it XP)

I used to be Blitz back in my HL days, and then after quitting and starting back up again I changed it to Tronic.  I was just messing around with different names and parts of words and Electronic came up and I decided to take the latter half of the word and make it my name!  So I became Tronic!  It sounds exactly like it's spelled Tron-Ic/Tron-ICK.  :D

I was Chenoa which ment little dove in native american now i am castiel (which means angel of thursday) after my favorite show supernatural.. :D

I never bounced around with names much. When I was like 13 and just starting HL I decided to call myself "Kennedy Farms" after a barn here. It didn't last long, I came up with Nytmare as a variation of "nightmare" to begin with. I played horse role playing games for the longest time and I always chose the darker, more mysterious characters. The ones that roamed the night. (In Light/Dark RPGS, I was always Dark haha)

I'm in love with the night. The moon, the stars, the quiet. I'm also female, obviously. So I became "a mare of the night" Sooo...Nytmare! Nytmare is tattooed on my ankle and I have three total crescent moon tattoos...so I'm not ever going to change it :D 

Like many others, I was the '09 - '11 HL refugee so I had over 100 names. Many of them were farm names like Maplewood Estates, Oak Ridge Equestrian Centre, Clover Leaf Ranch, etc. or since I was a role-player in the day, it was either cat/horse/wolf names that I was named. So, I had truly bounced around back then. 

But once I quit HL and came to HP, I wanred to start anew and have a fresh slate; I didn't want to be a farm name like in my past games, I wanted to be more of an individual that could have many nicknames down the road. 

So, my first name on here was Equestrianlover121, a very long and bland name.  Many players here lovingly dubbed me "Equ" as a nickname and I loved it so much, I just made it my official name. This name be pronounced two ways: 

eq-wah (think of eq as in "equestrian") 

eh-qu-wah 

So, mine was born because of the HP community, they named me! xD

I had many names on HL like "Painting the World of Quarter Horses" and "Meanwhile Back at the Ranch"......after awhile I became Azalie(uh-zay-lee)

I went with a friend to an Arabian Farm and their farm name was Azalee Arabians....sooo i changed a letter and viola!

So, my job is selling shoes. All the shoes have different names, usually a person's name, or sometimes they're just totally random. One of the shoes I really like is named Harrow and I just always thought it sounded cool. Pronounced Hair-row

Oh I have used a bunch of names. Oldest one I can remember from HL is Keecah, which is how you would pronounce my rl nickname Kika in english. (Sis couldnt pronounce Marika when she was a baby, it stuck. :) )

After a while I changed to Sinika,  a mix between my WOW name and rl nickname - Sin Kika.

When I was bored with that I switched to Freia from norse mythology, its also where  I got Vanheim from.

Due to different reasons I have been looking to change my online name for a about a year, soo when I saw How To Train Your Dragon II and heard the name Valka I switched to that. ^^

Back in HL days I was Pinkish. I don't really remember where I came up with that, but it stuck. When I went to high school, I was nicknamed shlee because there were a hundred million Ashleys in school. At that point I switched on HL, and when I joined HP I went with it. :)

shlee is pronounced "shh-lee". Or think of "Ashley" and drop the 'A', haha.

Peike(pee-aye-kay) is my middle name, it means hawaiian for paige lol, so original. 

I just stuck with it. Everyone knows me by it, like everyone. HaH no sense changing it and i love how unique it is.

Where should I start? On HL I was known as Silver from my rp more than anything but it changed depending. Then I went to Shadow on another one of my games after I quit HL. Time moved on and I switched many times. When I came here I was Shadow Knight. Then I went to Shadow to Sherlock to Eloquence. I just didn't like it and wanted something different. Well I was looking at different languages for Shadow and found Schatten and it stuck so here I am. 

On HL I was P.uma/P.uma Concolor (latin for cougar) and for a while I was the only one with that name. But then other people starting using that name so I switched over Onca...the latter part of the latin word for Jaguar. (My other favorite big cat.) On HL there was already a Panthera (who eventually became Embla), so I never used the Panthera part until on HP and I actually just recently added it to my name. IDK if I'll ever drop to just "Panthera". I like using the whole name. :P  I pronounce Onca "Onk-A" but it seems like one time I actually read somewhere that's actually supposed to be pronounced "on-sa". O.o

I honestly don't remember what I called myself on HL haha, it's been that long!

For HP, I'm Broken Vow (Bro-ken vow), BV/Broken/Vow for short! It's a song sung by my favorite artist, Josh Groban, it's lyrics are a tad sad, but the melody of the piano and his voice is what really drew me to this song. I was about 13/14yrs old when I first heard it, fast forward 14yrs and it still captures my attention. I feel old! Haha! xD

Well.. back in HL days I started off with Tainted... then switched to Redemption.. but neither stuck. I've been Insomnia since about.. 2009. I haven't changed it since. haha. Basically becuse I have horrible insomnia and never sleep. So in-som-nia. basically like the word. :P

I never stuck hard to anything on HL. At one point I used either Rustling or Rolling Oaks Ranch, but I never stayed active long enough to establish myself and I neer went onto any forums or chat or anything. My actual name is Jaclyn, but I don't really want my ex to be able to find me on here (not that that's even remotely likely, but I'm extra careful), so I decided to pick a pseudonym.

I have a habit of picking pseudonyms that are actually names. I write with my best friend and not terribly long ago two of the characters in the story we've been working on had kids. The first boy was Oliver. They had a second boy named Orsen and when we gave them a girl we didn't like any of the O girl names. My favorite was Olive or Olivia, but of course we couldn't do that with already having an Oliver. Anyway, we named her Parker.

Yes, I'm a huge nerd and proud.

So since then I've been rather fond of the name, but only as "Olive," not "Olivia." It was debated for my own daughter's name, but he didn't like it. I don't know what brought it back to the front of my mind, though. I decided not too long ago I wanted to go full on anonymous and have a blog where I could be totally honest without my ex finding me and I invented "Olive Lowe" as a person. It lasted for all of one entry. But the name stuck. She even has an email address and a fanfiction account lol.

It's actually REALLY weird how good I've gotten at answering to Olive/Oli/Ollie.

The owlish is because I fricking love owls and I don't even know why because I am terrified of birds... Especially geese. Geese and I don't get along. If you type "geese are" into google it fills in with "evil" and also suggests "mean," "jerks," "scary," and for some reason "monogamous" as the top suggestions.

Anyway, I'm obsessed with owls and in one of the Cards Against Humanity games that was played, this became public knowledge and I admitted my desire to change my name to Owlish and for a brief while I was "Owlstheperfectpredator" because of a certain answer card and Sam made me. Now I'm Owlish Olive because I still want to be Olive and I'll answer to any variety of any of this.

That got wordy. The story of "Olive" is really not that interesting. How did I write so much? Imagine if I told you the story of my more common pseudonym "Carp" and how it is somehow a nickname for "Butterfly"...

Also I've been pronouncing Equ, Peike, and Azalie all wrong...

I've had this name for.. years. I started playing Horseland years and years ago, I had all sort of names. From GlitterPonyx108 (just an example, rofl) to Cherry (another example). I finally decided I needed an actual name to go by, so my sister sat down with me and we looked up some names.

I had a couple names on HL, Nortia and Arion are the only two I remember. Then I settled on `Intrigue which is the model car I used to drive. I went by that for a long time before I just shortened it to trig. Sounds just like you would think, nothing special xD

I joined HL in like 2004 or 05 under the name friesiangirl_2011 because I had this folder in elementary school with pink flowers on it and a gorgeous rearing Friesian horse.  That became my favorite breed.  It wasn't long before I realized you aren't taken seriously or "elite" on HL with a player name like that and decided to come up with a random word or adjective that sounded cool so I could be like everybody else. For awhile I was phantarose because I was obsessed with the 2004 version of Phantom of the Opera, but I eventually settled on euphony, pronounced "yoo-fuh-nee", because it means "the quality of being pleasing to the ear, especially through a harmonious combination of words."  I'm really into music, song writing and creative writing so it was kind of related to that and not a commonly used word.  

I came up with "Vintage" because I love old things! It's always just stuck! Lots of peoply call me Vinny, Vinty or Vint. I've even gone as far as naming my photography and design business "Vintage". 

I think it's super cool that everyone has such unique names and the stories behind them are awesome!

I've been Ikaria for as long as I can remember. I don't remember what I started out as on Horseland. But I ended up as Zurich before switching to Ikaria. As for how I came up with I pretty much was making up words and scrambling letters together and landed on Ikaria.

It's pronounced ick-car-E-ah or when you shorten it to "Ika" it's pronounced "ick-ah".
