Hola everyone!

I figured I'd share with you my two Morgan horses and their stories.

JET

Jet is the reason why I fell in love with the Morgan breed. My boy was born in 2000 and as fate would have it I crossed paths with him at the local auction mart in 2003. I was 15 years old and figured I needed to take on a project horse... I was after all 15 and knew everything about training.... (sarcasm haha). So I walked through the auction to see all sorts of sad eyes, old horses, young horses, broken horses. It was a sad sight as most often horse auctions can be. Then there was Jet. I watched him for a bit, he was in a pen with 3 other younger horses, but he was the only black bay. The other horses watched and lost interest quickly and went about doing their thing, but not Jet, he stayed watching me. I think he was more interested in me than I was in him. So it was decided. I was going to buy this skinny 3 year old that needed much TLC and that I did.... for meat price. I got the Jetster home and got him on a ration to get some weight back on him. Did I ever have my hands full. I'm not certain of Jets whole past, but I can say for certain at one point he had been mistreated. I could barely catch him let alone touch him... it took weeks and weeks of me just being around him. I finally did get my hands on him and he would dance away from me, twitch and flinch at every movement of my hand. I took things slow and soon we built a trust. I broke him out as a 5 year old and we haven't turned back since. This boy is by far the BEST horse I've ever had the privilege to ride.

NEVADA

Mr. Nevada came to me after meeting his breeders several years ago. I knew that one day Jet would need to be replaced and put on retirement so I thought I should get myself another morgan. By the time I have Nevada up to speed, Jet will be ready to take it easy and live out his days. I went to go choose from yearlings that the breeders had and man it was a tough choice! Nevada and his brother Bently were both sooo calm, soooo sweet and soooooo gentle. But for some reason Nevada spoke to me. He was the one that would stand with us as we were talking with his eyes half closed and just so sweet. His brother Bently was a bit more of a trouble maker haha. I plan on getting Nevada broke this coming spring. He's had all his ground work done, but now he's finally mentally matured enough to go forward with his training. I'm sooo excited about him. I just have a feeling he'll be a people please and a surefooted horse... which is super important for what I'm going to be asking him to do for me.
