I'm not sure if this is a bug but I think it is because last I heard, the max energy an animal can have is 100.

So, I just bought the "Permanent Extra Energy" from the Cash Shop for my horse Andromedae (#263388). Then, I went to the Store to buy the extra shows that expire on Sunday (making her total energy 100). However, her name didn't show up in the drop down menu. 

I also went and checked the Cash Shop's "Double Extra Shows" and she doesn't show up there either (which I'm assuming is because I didn't/couldn't buy the store's extra energy). 

So is this a bug? I feel like I should be able to buy the Store extra energy as well as Permanent Extra Energy from the Cash Shop. I did that with my last project horse and it worked.

You have to buy the regular store energy first before the cash shop energy otherwise it wont work

It will show up next sunday though, so then you wont have to redo it...

But the permanent extra energy doesn't expire on Sunday.

Yes but since you bought the permanent extra energy FIRST it will NOT let you get it from the regular store this week, but next week your horse will automatically have 100 energy from then on...

now if you bought the 10 extra from the store first and then the perm energy it would show you to have 100...

i did this same thing when i was adding it to the contest horse which i ended up buying another to get 100 instead of the 90...
