So I don't usually do naming contests for RL animals because I like finding the perfect name all on my own. But I need help lol.

I have a 5 week old Eclectus chick whom I brought home yesterday. He is perfect, except he doesn't have a name yet and I am no closer to choosing one than I was when I started thinking about it on Friday.

Before you say "just wait to see what his personality is like and then pick one", that's not going to work. Firstly, he doesn't really have a personality yet. He eats, poops and sleeps. Not a lot to go on LOL. But mostly, I don't name my pets based on their personality. I never have. I pick a name because either a) I like it, b) it suits the way they look or c) it has some kind of significance. Examples: Bailey was named purely because I like it. Panda was named because of his markings reminding me of a panda. Zoe was named because it was a struggle to keep her alive during hand raising and "zoe" is greek for "life; alive".

Basically, I SUCK AT NAMING BOYS. Oh my god. Danny and I spent literally 3 weeks trying to name Whiskey and we only went with that because it was the one we both hated the least. Panda got to fledging before he got a name. I HATE NAMING BOYS. If this chick had been female, he would have a name already (would have been a toss up between bella, ruby and scarlet) but no. He had to be a boy. It's like he did it on purpose or something. XD

There are really no boundaries, but if you want guidelines... I like human-ish names. He is an Eclectus and he is going to be very green when he feathers out (google 'male eclectus'). I like short names, and preferably something easy to say as he will learn to say his name (among other things).

Mavi, Jay, Aravind, Denver, they all mean blue or green in some language or another.

These are colour names:
Ming, Bondi, Cyan, Cerulean, Teal, Azure, Beau, Cobalt...

He's adorable, I hope you find a name you love for him. ^^

Beryl (that might be a girls name though), Hunter, Forest, Loden, Olive (or you could do Oliver). 

For non themed names, you could do Henry, or Duke might be a cute name for a boy bird.

Don't know if you'll like it or not but when you said Scarlett for a girl it reminded me of Gone with the Win and I've always loved the name Rhett.

But I'll keep thinking. That one just was at the top of my head. :P

bit the poo out of my finger too. 

ate tuna for lunch that day, I also at one point had a cat named porkchop guess what I ate for dinner when we got him ;)

i had a friend bird sit for me while we were transitionio from renting to buying and well tuna did not like bird jail and escaped 

Name him whatever you ate. Burger sounds like a good name haha

I decided on Max. He's bigger than the average Eclectus chick so it kind of fits him, plus it's easy to say. I will be sending everyone a little something for their efforts tho!
