Yep, that happened. My husband is finally home from his year long tour oversees, and his homecoming came with orders to move from California to Georgia. So, a week and a half after he came home, movers came and we loaded up with 3 dogs 3 horses and 2 vehicles and moved across the country... all in all it was just over 3,000 miles. Holy cow.
We bought a house here in Georgia. It's only 5 acres (compared to the 10 that we had in Cali), except there's a TON of trees and an actual barn type thing. We are working on putting up a paddock so we can bring the horses home.. we left them in Texas with family so we could get everything ready for them. Annnnnd then that tropical storm thing came and we lost a few days of fence building.
I'm going crazy without the horses.. can't wait to get those goobers back.
I'm worried though about them getting used to and being ok in the humidity. It'll be a while before we can do workouts, yesterday was "88, feels like 102". Alas.
I think we are actually going to spring for Internet in this house (lmbo), so hopefully I'll be around like I used to be!! |

A big move! Hope you're getting settled and enjoying it. Have you always lived in California? (Til now, of course!) |

Holy crud! That's a heck of a move! Humidity is crazy hard to get used (at least for me). It got up to 104° here the other day but it was all dry heat so I survived! Super excited to see that you are back! *snugs* |

It must've been so crazy coordinating moving so far and with all your animals! I live in California and I really couldn't imagine having to move somewhere humid. I really prefer the dry heat. Best of luck to you and your new chapter in Georgia! I hope you can get your horses moved in soon :D |

What a huge move! It sounds so stressful, but change isn't always a bad thing. I hope you get your horses back soon, I bet you do miss them so much. I can relate to being surprised/suffocated by the humidity in the south. My sister lives in Biloxi, Mississippi (at the very bottom on the coast) and I'd never been that far south before. It was only in the 80s, but the air was like blanket-thick. It was hard to breathe! |

Humidity is awful, but you some how adjust to the grossness of it after time. Hopefully your ponies will get to be home with you guys soon! |
